PS2 Disc Read Error Message

Does anyone else have this problem?? I'm having trouble playing some of my games lately like NCAA 2005 Football and was wondering if anyone knows what PS2 were recalled or find out why I'm getting a disc read error. Does Sony cover something like this to fix?? Is it true that Sony recalled some of the PS2 consoles due to laser problems or what not to why I get Disc Read Error messages. Or is there a link to find out what PS2 were recalled if this is true. Thanks

try opening it up....and clean the lens.......i had that happen to an old ps2 that i had laying around......it work great after that!!!
