Oxidation(sp?) on headlights

Does anyone know of anything that will take the oxidation off of headlights. I have a 2000 GT, and the headlights are starting to look like crap. I heard there was something out there that made them look new again, but I don't know what it is called.

I just use either a fine rubbing compound on a rag or using my high-speed polisher and a foam pad. Works both ways for me.

this may sound like BS, but autozone sells this little one time use packet of goo by meguier's for plastic polish. it is 99cents and i gave it a try and it made them look 100% better, and thats just with a rag buffing. try that, its your best bet for a buck.

You will need the following materials:

-Windex or surface cleaner (non-abrasive)
-Brasso (the stuff you use for polishing brass, stainless steel, etc...) available at Home Depot and other hardware stores
-100% Cotton Cloth x 3 - one for applying brasso, one for buffing, and one for the 303
-303 Aerospace Protectant - UV inhibitor designed for materials such as Lexan. Available at aviation and boating supply stores (or Summit Racing)

Here's what you need to do:

1). Remove headlamps from your vehicle (or if you're careful you can do this job right on the car).

2). Set aside on a firm surface. Remove all bulbs and wiring to prevent injury and/or damage.

3). Clean surface of headlamp lens with Windex to remove bug spatter or other debris.

4). Using a cotton cloth, pour Brasso onto cloth and start rubbing the lens. Rub it in good!!!

5). Apply 2-3 times if your lenses are really bad.

6). Allow it to dry to a white cloudy haze and use the clean cotton cloth to buff it.

7). Buff until its clear, if its still cloudy - reapply the Brasso and repeat steps 4-6.

8). Once you're satisfied with the results, apply 303 directly onto the headlamp lens.

9). Use a clean cotton cloth to wipe off the excess and polish the lens. Repeat 2-3 times.

10). Re-install bulbs and wiring. Finally install the headlamps in your vehicle.

The 303 Aerospace Protectant should block most of the UV radiation from harming the plastic, but it's important to reapply the 303 occaisonally (i.e. everytime you wash the vehicle).

I've used Meguiar's Scratch-X on headlights before. They came out looking pretty damn good. It's basically a polishing compound for hand buffing.

I bought some of that Mequires stuff, but it won't quit raining long enough for me to try it. I am gonna give it a shot this weekend.
