I've found a few dual fan HDD Coolers for cheap, and I was wondering if they do the job that they're supposed to. Basically, would you buy one for less than $10? Are they worth the purchase?

Yes, they are very necessary in my view. I installed one on dfwls1.com's box and it went from 54* C down to what it is currently:
/dev/hda: WDC WD800JB-00ETA0: 30 C
20 degree job, BIG improvement. Remember, a drives biggest enemy is heat.

Thank you for that information, Cruz. I bought 2 for $13.
What trickery do I need to perform to get my drive temps?(other than sticking a thermometer on them)

Most drives have SMART on them, makes sure its installed on your bios and you can view the stats with an application that can read SMART data.

I wouldn't pay anymore than what you did for one, they are not that important, and the airflow that you have in your case already is usually sufficent, but for the price why not...My hard drive sits right behind my intake fan so I killed two birds with one stone.

I've never seen this in my BIOS. Can you tell me where to get it, and how to install it? That'd be pretty cool to have

It's the stock bios that came on my HP A450N. So with that said, I have no idea what my BOIS is.
