My 1.3 atlon thurderbird isn't doing the job anymore with these new games. I want to spend the least amount of money I can and have a pc that will play all the new games smooth. I was looking at an insignia at bestbuy. It's the d300 that has a p4 2.8 processor. I would upgrade the video card, but it doesn't have any agp slots in it. Is there a PCI video card out there that will perform pretty close to at least a 9800 pro? I don't think there is one. I would take the gf4 ti4600 card that I have in this pc and transfer it but the insignia doesn't have an agp slot.

Any suggestions?

Eric, I would look for a machine with an AGP slot, there is not much in the line of PCI video cards any longer. Although a P4 2.8 should be plenty to get you get going.

you could buy my whole computer!

how much are you wanting to spend?

a computer without an agp slot is damn near worthless.

I want to keep it in the $550 range but it liiks like I won't find what I'm looking for at that price.

I may just get a new motherboard and processor. Where is a good place online to purchase a motherboard and processor?

i've got a 3.0, and an asus p4p800-e deluxe i'd let go of. i'm in the opposite, boat, i'm not the super gamer i once was.
