A while back, there was a online petition asking ATI to provide drivers for Linux users. I guess some of the market still listens to what the customer wants. I plan on building a new machine from the ground up later this year. I plan on at least being a dual boot machine with Linux. If Nvidia doesn't do the same, then I see only one choice for my new video card purchase.

ATI IS here in Cyprus to outline its recently announced X700 and Catalyst drivers.
Terry Makedon, a senior product manager, largely talked about those, but he did say the firm is readying a major push in the next few weeks to outline its plans for Linux driver support.

Man that's great i plan on running a dual boot also. Linux is starting to grow on me.

Nvidia has been providing linux drivers for 4 years..... I downloaded them way back when I had my tnt2 card:)
