Anybody know how to hack these? I've been on some web sites that talk about TIVO web, copying shows to the PC and burning to DVD etc. I would like to get this stuff on my TIVO but I'm not a Linux guru. I did upgrade the harddrive, though.

Just checking if anybody is into this.

A couple of sites that you'll need to know:

9th Tee (http://www.9thtee.com)
and
Deal Database (http://www.dealdatabase.com)

They can answer ALL your questions and more. Read Read and Read some more. It's not all that complicated.

I've been reading the dealdatabase sight off and on for a while. It's till pretty confusing, but I plan on picking up a second DirecTivo and just jump in and see what happens.

I recently setup my friend's tivo on his home network for him, but it wasn't a direct tv version. Simply had to use the usb connection in the back and hook it into his router and setup the tivo to use his dsl connection to dial out and download information, no need for a second phone line now. Plus he can now use his computer as a music server for his tivo, pictures etc.

If you have a DTivo S2 then its simple. Go Here. (http://www.tivo.com/4.9.8.asp)

It's a DIRECTV TIVO. For some reason DirecTV will not enable all the features that a standalone TIVO has. All of this can be done, but it is up to you to figure it out. Just thought I might try to find someone local that has done this to lean on.

Yeah the DTivo's are setup to get the data from the Sat stream since its all integrated. So the standalone Tivos dont have to worry about that. I'm planning on upgrading my 40Giger to something larger 160 Maybe? So Once I start that I'll post if I have sucess or have a nice boat anchor. Looks like killHDinitrd is the way to go now. However I cant figure out if its gonna work with my DTivo2 since they have RIDs. Cant find a clear answer on that.

add me to the list, I have a few projects to pursue and will be glad to share any experience or resources with those interested. I would like to undelete some movies that got deleted on my Sony T60 running 2.5.2 Xtreme. As I understand it, when a movie is deleted it is actually only removed from the "now playing" menu. It will eventually get overwritten as drivespace might require. Can anyone confirm this and possible walk me thru how to bring these back?

Second, I would like to find images for Hughes HDVR2 and HDVR40.
