If I tubed my new ET Drags, would it help them from spinning on the wheel?
I haven't run them yet, so hopefully they will work better with my setup better than the Hoosiers............1.64 60ft spinnin......on the track and rim

I know .............damn it!
It's just hard to do it to a over $300 wheel! :( :(
Anyone know who has a template?

if you put tubes in with out the screws, you will spin the tube in the tire, eventually causing the valve stem to be sherred off, causing you to dart left or right about the 60' mark, steering you right into the wall!
Screw it regardless of what you do!

Wheel screws are the only way to go... I did mine without a template.
And I know what you're talking about in terms of the $$$... I felt more than a little nervous drilling on my alumastar 2.0's!

16 screws per wheel, 8 inside and on the out side. Lane did mine.

Summit sells a plastic template that is in the "new part" section in the front of the new catalogue.. If you buy one box of Moroso screws there is enough for 8 per side, per wheel with a few left over ..

I have 16 screws per side of each wheel... I think 8 per side would work for you.

If you don't want to put screws in them, you could always go to bead locks. :)

If you decide to put tubes in them without screwing them, please let me know when you make the first run. I've seen one idiot do it once and it was funnier than hell to watch him rearrage the sheetmetal on his car.

id do it properly, but you can probably get away with like 4 screws on the inside.

You don't necessarily need a template:

One trick I learned was to drill the holes away from the outer lip and angled upward just a tad. If you don't do this the screw head may hit the rim edge.
Do the back sides first for practice :) and rebalance after you are done.
I've got 8 per side using the moroso kit.

Actually i use tape on the wheels and tape off in a cross. Then go back over the cross and cut that first cross into pie sections. Works real nice. Be sure to use a punch. Its really not all that hard but PLEASE dismount the wheel from the tire first before attempting.

So you got rid of your Hoosiers too! They are so inconsistent. I'd get a 1.45 60' on 1 pass, and on the next pass with conditions virtually the same, I would see a 1.53!

16 on each side here also. A buddy of mine had a pattern that he got from Duffy. The tape idea up a few posts sounds like a great idea though.

You should really have an equal amount on both sides of the wheel for balance purposes.
Just my .02 though.

Well FFW is this weekend and dyno the car tomorrow (plus tuning it) . The tune is alittle off right now  We are hoping to get all that straighten out tomorrow and be back into the 6's with some 105+ mph. These damn 102-98 mph is killing me :( . Hopefully I will be back to K-Dale the follwing weekend.
