Nice read, but it doesnt always work like that. I was taking my g/f to school 2 days ago on the bike and we were in a 2 lane turn getting on to valley view from I-35. I was in the outside lane turning and this Buick Rivera decides he wants to turn from the inside lane and end up in the outside after the left turn. This placed him directy at his front wheel. I came from a dead stop but i was already going about 25 in 90* left turn. This forced me to grab my brakes since I had nowhere else to go unless i wanted to give him right of way and go into the high curb. But by grabbing my brakes, my bike dove, almost pulling us down and into the turn. The extra 100lbs on the back didnt help any, but he just endangered my girlfiend's life, there was no excuse. I have him the finger and came up beside him as quickly as possable and told him he needs to learn to fucking drive and watch out where hes going. I sped off feeling better about myself. Do i regret doing that? no. does it give riders a bad name? only if he tells the story as if he didnt do anything wrong. But i can honestly say that is the only time I have ever done anything like that in traffic. Even when a mustang pulled out in front of me in the rain when i was doing 45 and he was doing 10, i almost went underneath his bumper but by some miracle, i slowed in time. Even then I didnt do anything but look at the guy. But the fact that someone did that to me while i had a passenger REALLY pissed me off. Its hard enough to manuver a bike a low speeds, its even harder with a person on the back. That guy was an ignorant fuck and should ride a bike for the day. I assure you he would be roadkill.

Good read. I wonder if anything has changed since 1995 when it was published
