View Full Version : I'm so sick of hearing about Jake Plummer

Every year I have to read some article about this being the year he shows the world he is the next Montana. Since day one I have been screaming this guy is over rated and doesn't deserve the right to clean Montana's cleats, much less fill them. He will never be anything other than mediocre. And so far, I have been right since day one. Well the day comes last year where he was traded to Denver. Then the voices came...again, "Jake will be the MVP now!" they yelled. We will see how good he really is. Well, what happened? He threw 15 touchdowns and 7 picks and missed 5 games. Not exactly stellar, but an improvement, I will give him that. Looks like Mr. Mediocrity was just that, mediocre. Considering he was surrounded by several stars and an all around better team, Ryan Leaf would have shown improvement with that move. Well, I figured after his less than stellar year, I wouldn't have to hear the bullshit any more and that finally, everyone would see the light....WRONG. Peter "I don't know what the hell i'm talking about" King has predicted yet again that Jake the Fake will be this years MVP. I guess I might as well live with the fact that as long as this average QB is in the league, I will have to listen to this hype no matter how shitty he plays, as I don't think these jackasses will ever jump off the bandwagon. I'm just glad he's not in Arizona anymore, that way they can't use the team as an excuse for him sparing us to death.

I thought you were a 49'er fan.
Anyway, I agree with you on the fact that Jake Plummer was, correction IS way overrated. I think the media need to focus on the new prospects of the league, as opposed to an aging QB.

If Jake Plummer didn't have mucho talent around him, at best he'd only be a decent back-up QB.
The only thing I see him sharing with Montana, is that they were both white and wore red uniforms at some point during their careers.

I believe it was Bill Walsh who was predicting him to be the next Montana.
