I rode to church last night left at 7:15pm (still light) and rode back at late twilight. (stayed on the service rode of US67 down to Wheatland and made a right, and then a left on Hampton.) I had my new gear on which feels fine. The jacket got a little warm but it wasn't uncomfortable. I think my body temp was up because I was so nervous. The reason for my nervousness was these boots and gloves I bought. The gloves weren't that bad but, I just need to get used to them. They are kinda sticky so i kept inadvertantly rolling the throttle. But on the way back home i was getting used to it.

The boots on the other hand, suck. I didn't find any good affordable boots at Cycle Gear so I used some Walmart boots but, they were sooo thick that I couldn't shift. And I felt very disconnected from my bike. I mean I couldn't shift at all unless I put my foot at some stupid awful angle. uugghhhh, I don't like riding when all my concentration is on shifting. When I leave work today I'm going by MotoLiberty and check to see if they have some real riding boots. I wish my Nike tennis shoes were good for riding because they sure felt the most comfortable. :D

I also need a new clear visor because tinted at night..............SUCKS

Yeah I need some riding boots too. I usually wear my steel toe work boots but they make me shift at an uncomfortable angle too. I don't like that feeling either.

Post up what/if you get any boots at MotoLiberty. I was going to go by there in there tomorrow morning and look. I would like to have some new boots for the Sunday gtg.

Change your shield! Very dangerous riding at night with a tinted shield. I have rode a couple of times after dark with my iridium shield and it sucks bad!

Yeah, I know. I was on the service road so most of the time i would just poot along w/ the visor up so I could see. Except when I started picking up speed and saw bugs in the light. Then I'd let the visor down. But mostly I had it up.

It's not long at all compared to most rides. But for a beginner like myself, it's far. It's about say...................5-7 miles

Bought my Diadora riding boots at motorcyclecloseouts.com for $99!! Very comfortable!!! They make them in 2 styles, tall boots for road racing, and hiking boot style. Both are very comfortable and have padded shift pads in the toes. they also offer excellent ankle protection. :D
They have pics on that website :D
