does that count? the bar never was steady. I mean i know she can lift it but as an actual powerlift i dont think that would have qualified. Impressive however.

what do you mean the bar wasn't steady? she locked it out just fine... more than was actually required I'd guess.

looks fine to me. i have been watching some power lifting videos.. and most of the NON top ppl tend to have pretty sloppy lifts.. as long as it touches the chest and gets to lock.. the middle is all types of nasteyness.
The lift looked fine to me, but the girl sure didn't

at a PL meet, you bring the bar down to your chest slowly, then the main judge tells you to press when the bars steady. I never heard a press call (of course the audio was shit) and the bar never stopped and steadied before she pressed. So for a non competitive lift...it worked...but according to technicality.....it probably would have been red lighted.

Doubtful, her menstrual cycle's probably all messed up from the juice in her blood.

That's not right you would have sex with that?
That was a clean lift and perfectly acceptable. You have to keep in mind though that she was using a bench shirt, which is probably adding 40 to 50 lbs. to her capabilities. Still a lot for a chick to bench.

i didn't watch the vid, but in a PL meet you generally have 3 lights. The only part of the lift that automatically red-lights the whole thing (short of not being able to hold the weight) is like was already said...if you don't wait for the head judge to say "press" after holding the weight at your chest. They also watch your feet to see if they move. If one moves, it's a red light, if they both do, 2 red lights which throws the lift out. They also watch you bring it up and you can't lock out one elbow WAY before the other. That doesn't show very good control of the weight and you will be red-lighted by the judge if he thinks your hands came up way too far apart (time-wise). You also can't shift your weight once you have the weight in your control or it's a red light. If you guys think she's big....when I went to state in H.S. (was injured, or i would have probably won, maybe 2nd/3rd place if I didn't get what i was capable of) there was this chick that was 6' 3", like 3?0 lbs and she was squatting/deadlifting the same as me, which was in the ~520 department. Granted, I was in the 165lb weight class, but that bish was just massive. Kinda made me feel bad.

Cant bring head off the bench either. And there is always a pause before the press call to assure that the bars steady. If 2 judges see the same foot move...its a red light, its not 1 red per foot. If your butt comes off the bench its a red light. An uneven lockout is a red. If you bounce it...its a red. Its easy to get a red light on bench if you dont practice form.
As for the bench shirts...it matters what type of shirt it is. If its a double denim stitch...it'll add quite a bit, but the shirt she was wearing looked just like a normal bench shirt which generally only adds 20lbs IF you know how to use it. And yes there is a technique.
At most meets if you press before the call...you can steady the bar again...go down and wait for the call as long as you dont rack it. But usually you cant get that second lift seeing as how it is your max.

You are right on the feet. If the feet move you are out of there. Same goes for the head.
The plain old bench shirts are worth more than 20 lbs though. Mike Inzers shirts are anyway. Those fucking denim ones are worth over a 100 lbs. for some of the guys who wear them, although I think that is a little gay.

hahaha, put one on and youll know. They pull your arms up and and you walk like a zombie. Imagine having a shirt so tight it acts as a srping across your chest. They hurt like hell too...if you get the right size.

lol, then how are they legal for lifts?

lol, yeah, those shirts are killer. I don't know what brand we used in h.s. but they were like a "poly-" somethin or other material. the shirts aren't bad tho, you get to put them on a couple mins before your lift, then take them off. the suit, however, is a whole diff story. adam, imagine a super-tight pair of biker shorts that leaves a ring on your legs for a several hours after you take it off!!!
I don't know why they're legal or anything, but when you do squats you get to wrap your knees too...imagine having a really thick ace bandage wrapped around your knees and high calf, very low quads. You can't bend your knees, and you walk kinda crazy, but it helps you to keep your knees from going out, and it helps you spring up from the 90 degree position when you squat. You put them on so tight that 2 people wrap each leg while the person in front of you lifts, then they have to take them off immediately after you lift b/c your legs aren't getting any blood circulation. Ask anyone that competitively lifts, that's not an exaggeration.

I lift competitively and if you got wrapped down to your mid calves you should have been DQed :) hehe, its 6in either way from the center of the knee. And they're legal because they're all some sort of "protective" gear. And you have to go past 90 degress (parallel) on squat for it to count.
I have to hand it to power lifters. Man, I can't even think about going heavy like that.
A little off topic, but man, everytime I see this chick in quicstang99's sig I got to sit and stare. She is HOT!
