Need help!

Ok im going to put my 2 12" RF subs in my ranger. I am going to buy 2 of these boxes.... Truck box (http://www.cardiscountstereos.com/Catalog%20Page.asp?Product+%23=TRUCK112) ... and im wanting to know if that will work. the Cubic foot for my speakers are 1.00 and those boxes have .97. Will that be ok? please let me know ASAP! thanks

most of those boxes are a little smaller than that, either way, you didn't take into account the physical volume of the sub, which can be substantial, depending on your subs.

overall, it'll probably work okay, it just wont be optimal.

If the dimensions they give are exterior (which is normally what a company gives), then that enclosure is .75cuft internal volume minus the displacement of the driver which will probably be approx 0.07cuft which means that the overall internal airspace will be 0.68cu ft. A 32% decrease in recommended airspace will cause you to lose low frequency output.

5/8" wood x 2 = 10/8=1 2/8=1 1/4=1.25
15"-1.25"=13.75"H

Also, on an enclosure that cheap that has been shipped across the country, expect to have to work on it to seal it up.

Shit! well i just ordered two of them so that i can put my 12's in my ranger, like i said. But are they just going to sound like pure shit? or will they sound ok for the air space they have?

if you aren't really picky, they'll likely be okay for ya.

with the smaller enclosures, more power will get you back some of the sound you're looking for.

Well like u said, im not picky at all. I just dont want them to sound like crap. If they sound pretty good and hit decent i will be happy. My dad said they should. Do u think they will carry any?
