Did not see where they expressed anger at the war to topple Saddam.
However, they are likely angry at:
1) The reckless manner in which they perceive the war was executed.
2) The 'democracy' they were promised was not as advertised. Any reasonings for this are probably considered 'excuses' by us.
3) Being exploited for political gain.

The use of the word 'likely' does indicate that I know nothing of the sorts. Nothing is, things appear.
1: If your understanding of the ways of war are random attacks with AKs and RPGs, do you truly have a grasp of the intricacies of war as displayed by our troops? Not likely. Your understanding of a people you know nothing about is staggering.
During Desert Storm, Desert Shield and Operation Southern Watch, I spent nearly 14 months in the region. I never made into Iraq proper, but I did spend extensive time in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qutar, Bahrain, U.A.E., Oman, etc. I have a basic grasp of how people from that region think about certain things and in certain situations. Do I pretend to know them fully? Absolutely not.
As far as understanding our troops in the region . . . as mentioned earlier, I was once one. In addition to that, the ring bearer at my wedding has spent one tour in Afghanistan & two in Iraq as has my brother-in-law. So current troop mentality also does not come as completely foreign.
2: A fledgling democracy can not be summed up as "not as advertised." Anyone with a thimble full of brain power should be able to realize that. The benefits of this change in policy will likely not be realized for decades to come. But it is a start.
Again, the issue does not revolve around my opinion of the situation. Quite a few Iraqis have come forward with a similar attitude. We promised them sovereignty, but they cannot tell our troops to get out. On top of that, we are building 14 permanent bases there. We promised democracy, but did not allow them to vote on their PM -AND- have told them that they cannot elect a Shi'ite cleric -OR- freely elect a theocracy. I am not suggesting that allowing these things would be wise.
3: Laughable. What, pray tell, is the number one talking point against Bush today? Aside from the purportedly weak economy, that is...

I think our troops are doing the best they can given the situation into which they were put. I understand the sentiment completely, because if someone invades my country, I will take appropriate action.

Furthermore, where were all of these people when Saddam was in power? IMO they were obligated to remove that fucking maniac from power. For the good of their countrymen, hell, for the good of the entire region. I watched an interview on TV where one of the soccer players and one of the administrators for the soccer team from Iraq both said they wanted to be left out of politics all together. You must remember it was politics that tortured them to begin with when Sadam was in charge. They just want the general freedom to play soccer and represent their country. If we as Americans are in such a need for slaps on the back for freeing the Iraqi's as some of you seem to be(by the way didn't see any of you all riding a tank into Tikrit). We must really re-evaluate, did we do this for them or us, do they owe us or do we feel as though they should be groveling at our feet. If he feels that Bush has caused the deaths and committed crimes then has that right. Whether he is right or wrong is not the issue. Nope.I have a tricked out 1980 coupe that is painted like the american flag, my 85 Mustang GT convertible, I have a 84 SVO project car and my 2003 Dodge Ram sets in the drive. In the side lot behind the pool (I live on an acre) I have a 92 convertible that is getting a 351W I sold to a friend in San Antonio, an 81 Coupe that I am building a 351W for that I sold to a friend here in Wylie and I am picking up a 68 short bed Chevy to work on.

I see you only run your mouth when someone else is racing for you. Why are on this site again, it obviously has zero to do with cars because when I mention racing your fingers go as limp as Tyson in his last fight. Al P and I will meet up some time when he is out on a big money night with his turbo car.

So with that said I didn't call you out; however, I will be back together soon and more than happy to race you with your big hair dryer and all. I know what you have and it isn't a 351 with a 125 shot, so you challenged and I'll answer in due time. You started the crap talking not me, we'll finish this on the track. It was running until thursday night when I pulled the 351w so I can put in my next setup. I don't worry much about it though, you brought the intial challenge so I'll come for you when I am ready. If this bothers you, I can't say I care. I am sure in your mind you are thinking you're ging to walk the dog on me. I am sure you won't but it will be a great race, just depends on who is lower in the 9's on that given night.

So now when we do this and we will, it is when and where I say. You issued the challenge with no time restraints or location. So it will be at Red Line or Ennis your choice of course and before this season is over. I need a little time to break it in then we can see what's up. Don't be afraid just be pre-pared. This is great motivation for getting me out in the garage and working too, I must say thank you.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion mine differs from yours which is okay. We invaded their country and liberated them from an oppressive regime; however, in their eyes we also are infidels that have inhabited their lands and some want us gone some want us there. They are no different from Americans in that respect. During the Revolutionary war we needed the support of France with their Navy to finally hold up the English at Yorktown and force a surrender. How did we say thankyou, a few years later we backed out of a treaty we had signed due to their change in leadership i.e. Napoleon. So when the French asked us to help out against the English a few years after our war was won we said no and claimed our treaty was null and void. So that in itself wasn't very thankful was it?
