read all the reviews, XM is better according to them.

sirius pulls bandwidth from not as popular radio stations to make up for the more popular stations that are being listened to. which causes like a hiss in the background of the station bandwidth is being pulled from. - got this directly from the sirius regional manager believe it or not.

XM tends to get better reception due to having more repeaters (wireless & regular) on the ground. plus its cheaper!

I think reception is fine on my three Sirius units. Also consider what sports you want to hear. Sirius has the NFL, NHL, and NBA contracts. XM has NASCAR and MLB contracts. Sirius is same price if you buy a year...they give you a month free so no biggie. Listen to some channels on-line and then decide depending on your taste. I am a Sirius person myself....

thats true too, good point. Sirius does have th NFL now which is attracting ashitload of customers.

and nascar sucks. so it depends on your personal taste too.
i personally care for the XM delfi units over sirius' audiovox and jvc pieces though.

Sirius can be cheaper depending upon how you buy it AND they have a lifetime service plan for $499. ($499/$12.95per month=38.54 months) You recoup in 3 years 2.54 months and from then on it is free. XM does not offer a comparable plan. Kenwood Sirius units sound great with a Kenwood head unit. All of the FM modulated systems are so-so IMO. I sell both. XM has better/more rock channels but XM is in bed with the devil (Clear Channel) so many of their channels are very repetitive plus I hate clear channel. I do think XM sounds better in most situations. Both XM and Sirius are compressed and do not sound as good as a CD. Both have no commercials on the MUSIC channels but Sirius does a station ID between every song and the DJ's will not shut the F up.

Still, depending upon the content you want, either are great and both are 10X better than local FM crap.
