If we can get them out of the mosques, it'll be easier to bomb them without damaging a "holy site". :D

I think we need to put a big hole in the holy site. Let them rebuild it.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/1027.gif' alt='Helicopter 2' border=0></a>

It's totally fukin stupid to be "talking to them anyway" Their just a bunch of pansies that, now they are cornered, want to call time out. all they'll do is sneak around and try to kill again.

Yeah, I don't see em taking a bullet in the head for their cause, the way the defenders of the Alamo did.

The olny thing we need from them is there oil. I don't think radioactivty hurts oil. and my motor shouldn't mind.

We did it the Democratic way. We now negotiate with terrorists.
Imagine that!

They might not take a bullet in their head for their cause.... but they will strap explosives to themselves. I'd say that they are pretty willing to die for their cause.

Something fishy is going on. Al Sadr hasn't followed up on any promise up to date. Why trust him now? They are willing to grant amnesty to this group if they disarm and surrender in Najaf. Are they going to take the battle elsewhere? A little R&R time???? Does this mean we fight him again in 2 months?

"Sayyed Moqtada and his fighters are ready to throw down their weapons and leave for the sake of Iraq," he told the agency. "But they should stop attacking him first and pull away from the shrine."

His earlier quote of "I'm not giving up until I've lost my last drop of blood" or whatever didn't last very long. When the heat is on the towlies run and hide.

MOAB (http://www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/meast/04/09/sprj.irq.moab.gulf/) thier ass! If you haven't heard of the MOAB bomb its a 21 killoton conventional bomb (Hiroshima and Nagasaki were 35 killotons each). That would leave a nice divit in the sand. And like mentioned above, they can rebuild a damn mosque. Fuck'em!

I think it is funny, he was hiding from us but when the Iraq troops threatened to storm the place his true cowardly colors began to show. I agree with dropping "something" over there Moab, Daisy Cutters, Dead pig parts, heck all of the above soaked in pig's blood.

My .02

He will likely show up again in some form or another. When he gets out, we should keep a very close eye on him [or take action then].

If we would have bombed [conventional or otherwise] one of the holiest sites in all of Islam, you can be sure that a) our support within the country & the region would have evaporated quickly and b)it would have been seen as the 'final proof' that this was a holy war from the beginning.

We bomb any of the holy sites over there, and al Queda's numbers grow by a million or so.

You can call in 'negotiating with terrorists' all you want, but sometimes, diplomacy can save you from a bigger headache.

Loud Blasts Heard Near Shrine in Iraq's Najaf

{snip}
NAJAF, Iraq (Reuters) - At least five loud explosions on Thursday echoed from near holy sites in the Iraqi city of Najaf where a radical Shi'ite cleric has remained holed up despite earlier agreeing to leave a sacred shrine.

Reuters witnesses said intermittent sniper fire could also he heard coming from the area.

Cleric Moqtada al-Sadr said on Wednesday his militia forces would disarm and leave the Imam Ali Mosque, one of Shi'ite Muslims' holiest shrines, but only after a truce was agreed with U.S. marines encircling the city.

But the continued fighting has raised doubts that any cease-fire will stick and that a radical Shi'ite uprising that has gripped cities in southern and central Iraq will be defused.

I say keep the pressure on that bastard Muqtada Al Sadr until they're all dead. WTF, they are terrorist/militants/rebels that resort to cowardly acts such as IEDs to kill soldiers and marines. Why the hell would anyone want to make a deal with these ignorant shits.
I'm stationed in Camp Anaconda, Iraq and this is my second tour here in Iraq. I am furious that they'll (U.S. and ING) allow this idiot to make a deal to only re-surface in the near future with even more terrorist actions. We're doing it the right way now... The U.S. needs to keep pounding on these guys in Najaf until they come out waving white flags.
But the way politics are I don't see that ever happening... Just needed to vent a bit here...

Cleric Moqtada al-Sadr said on Wednesday his militia forces would disarm and leave the Imam Ali Mosque, one of Shi'ite Muslims' holiest shrines, Isn't every mosque in Iraq one of the Shi'ites' or Sunnis' holiest shrines? Goofy bastards..

Anyways, it is AL-SADR'S decision on where he holes himself up. HE decided to go into 'one of Shi'ite Muslims' holiest shrines' to fight a battle. Fine, fuck that mosque, and fuck him and his fighters too.

Also, it is the Iraqi forces that are fighting him ;) with a little air support from their friends. They can blow away all the mosques they want to.

Thank you for your service Bullitt3055, it is very much appreciated. Please vent all you want, we're very interested in your take on the situation.
