head unit in dodge ram

i put a head unit in my 97 ram and now all i get is treble out of two speakers in the front. i used conversion plugs to the factory wiring. i'm guessing the amp isn't turning on for some reason. any car audio pro's know an easy fix for this? thanks

If you have an Infinity system my guess would be that you need to bypass the stock amps. If it's anything like like the Bose systems then the head unit powers the front tweeters and they use amps for everything else.

that sounds like whats happenin. i'd rather just use those amps if i can.

no all you have to do is hook up your amp-turn on wire on the harness and the HU you installed. depending on the headunit you have its either the blue/white stripe (sony models) or the solid blue wire. hope that helps
