Put down the spoon and pick up the fork......................with some salad on it.
Seriously. Light cardio and watch what you put in your mouth. Don't over do the cardio, take protein, creatine and glutamine, lift regularly.
I over simplified it for you.

Right, dieting alone is fairly easy, but there is nothing simple about trimming bodyfat while preserving lean mass. Find out how many calories your body burns in a day (exercise included) and eat 300 to 500 calories less than that. Make sure that you are getting enough protein to maintain your lean mass and get plenty of sleep to help your body from becoming catabolic.

The cheerleaders at school told me its easiest to just throw up after you eat, or just to not eat at all. Then the manager at work said speed drops the weight realy quick.

Like I said, "dieting" is easy. Cutting bodyfat while preseving lean mass isn't so simple.

How does one go about doing that?

How does one go about doing that?I believe he is talking about a persons Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR). It is basicly the number of calories you would burn if you stayed in bed all day. Using this number you can multiply it by a factor (determined by your level of physical activity) to determine how many calories you actually burn in one day. This page here can help get a rough idea of what your BMR is.

By cutting you caloric intake by 500 everyday a person can typically loose 1 pound every week (3500 calories = 1 pound)
But if you are going to cut calories, I would first start with cutting fat/saturated fat, then carbs if you have to (you need the carbs for energy while exercising), all the while increasing your protein. I get around 1700 calories a day comprised of about 40 grams of fat, 180 grams of carbs, and 150 grams of protein and I have lost 7 lbs in the last month but increased my lean mass by 5 lbs.
