Best car cover?

Okay, I need to break down and buy a car cover for a car that is going to be stored outside for the next few years. It probably will not be moved/driven much. It's an '88 LX hatch. I want it to last awhile and not form rust or trap moisture underneath it. I am going to wash the car completely before I put a cover on it, and the cover will remain on it, with the car being outside, the next few years. What is a good brand, part number, best place to get it, etc.

WTF? Make one? I'm more interested in just buying one that fits the car nicely, and will last a few years out in the elements. I can go buy a piece of shit cover at Wal Mart that might last 6 months and form surface rust on the car by trapping moisture, but I do not wanna do that.

No one visits...only 80 views and I am sure 1/2 of those are from the few that have posted in your thread.
I'd give some of the f-body forums a try...there are a lot of anal people there who would know about covers.

Matt, since no one has really provided anything helpfull I'll chime in. I've had 4 car covers over the past 15 years. The last three were made out of Noah® and my first one was made out of something similar to the Multiweave II TM. All were great and protected my car very well. The last couple of times it has snowed, before I had a car port built to cover my Mustang, all I had was the Noah® cover protecting it. With maybe 2 or 3 inches of snow on it I could left the cover up and it was dry underneath. I think that's pretty good protection. I've also had pretty good luck with protection from hail and you can go a step further, if you know in advance, by putting some card board underneath the cover to absorb the impact of big chunks of ice.

Expect to pay $150-200 for a good "new" cover. I've been lucky in that a couple of people on the board gave me a cover and my current one I bought used again from a guy on the board.

Lisa, after a near death experience involving a car, my "car cover" eating dog has learned the error of his ways and hasn't chewed on either my new 'Vert cover or my bike cover. Hell if I had known this would have happened I would have hit him with my car 2 years ago :D J/K :D

I found some decent ones from empire. This cover was a replacement cover for a custom cover that cost three times as much and started leaking water and collecting dust under the cover in less than a year. My Empire cover is 4 months old, has survived numerous strong thunderstorms and seering Texas sun, and so far is exceeding my expectations. I have 3 cars under cover, soon the other two will be covered by Empire.
