After all the problems I've had with my elbow, it felt SOO damn nice to put the 70s up today. I know it's a far cry from the 95s and 100s I was doing 2 years ago, but I'm just happy that my elbow is taking the abuse. I was worried that my muscles had atrophied a ton since I haven't been able to work my chest hard for a long time, but everything seems to be in order. If all goes well, I'll be putting the 100s back up within a few months, as long as the joints cooperate.

Hey tex, I haven't gotten the whole story, what happened to your elbow, workout related or injured somewhere else? Always feels better knowing that you can get up a certain weight without having pain, I just got over some rotator cuff type injury and incline is a bitch. :D

I've torn it up pretty good over the years playing baseball and softball. It's basically just really bad tendonitis, but it's severe enough that there have been times where I could either lift or play ball, and I've chosen ball, since I get paid to do that. Unfortunately when I'm not lifting, the joint gets weaker and it compounds the problems. All total I've lost a pretty good amount of muscle, and at one point had put on a shit load of fat. I talked to a doctor, and he told me that if I didn't back off the ball for a while, and get strong again, I'd have to have surgery in the next year or so, so that's what I'm doing now.

congrats man! Are you putting a wrap or brace on it. You probably should. I also have one of those shoulder injuries that just wont go away. I just hurt it every chest day.

Nah, I wrap it and use a neoprene sleeve when I play ball, but I've always been told that it's better to workout/practice without the braces or else the joints will never fully recover.
