We decided to do our chest workout doing flat bench dumbell presses.

Warm-up 2 sets 30lbs 15reps
1 set- 45lbs x 15
2 set- 60lbs x 15
3 set- 75lbs x 15
4 set- 80lbs x 5
5 set- 95lbs x 5
6 set- 100lbs x 2

I've never done the 100 pounders before, therefore I'm pretty pleased. That is all. :D

j/k. That's great. I remember back when I was in shape, I loved the heavy dumbbells. Feels great liftin' those things. Hopefully about six months from now I'll be back in shape and I'll be fighting you for those 100 pounders. (or more!)

I'm just getting back into the gym after 2 1/2 months out. I'm not doing anywhere near that right now, just doing:

dumbbell incline:
1x12 @ 75
1x10 @ 75
1x8 @ 80

and then right after that moving to dumbbell bench:
2x10 @ 75
1x10 @ 80

back when I was in good shape I was doing basically:
3x8 @ 90lbs. on dumbbell bench and then
3x8 @ 85lbs. (90 on the last 2 sets if it was a good day) on dumbbell incline.

Good job and keep with good form, that much weight and one wrong rep could set you back a couple months (experienced in the field ;) :( )

Oh for sure! Don't want to hurt myself. I've always laughed at the guys who are moving alot of weight but, doing it all wrong. 275 on the bench press but, only going halfway down. Curling 135lbs on the barbell but slinging it up with their back. LOL

I see many of those guys down here in Austin at the UT gym. I really want to go over and tell them that they are doing it wrong and they would get better results if they do lower weight and correct, but it's not my place to tell someone, "You know you could be doing a lot better if you did those correctly." I hate those guys, so I'm just going to have to let other people figure out correct form by themselves. Not saying I have perfect form, but I get good gains and injuries are less common.

I kinda like it if people tell me what im doing wrong. That way i dont look like an idiot, and get better results. But most people are stupid and irrational and hate correction. If i could get the 100 lbs up to my cest i would probably be able to do them, just may arms aren't strong enough. haha. Im probably getting them up there wrong though too.

I think I'm gonna try the 100lb'ers this week. Last week I was throwing the 90's up 10 reps and still keeping good form so I will get me a spotter and see what happens with the big'uns. :)

i know you dont seriously think you said something to impress or ooooooohhh and ahhhh him... it was a good accomplishment... until you stuck your foot in your mouth... I worked out with him today........ HE IS A BIG BITCH... i think he shits 100lb dumbells...

i dont need squats or DLs to get big:) several pro's dont do them.. plus.. even with out squats or Dl's.. i can unleash plenty enough pain and suffering for the Pain train....:)

i fell down some steps years back and have a chipped vertibrae floating around.. no Dls or squats for me... its a medical thing. not a desire thing..

I started doing deadlifts right before I stoped going to the gym a few months ago. I could tell a HUGE differance in overall fitness when my weight started going up! Squats where also a good overall exercise...nothing else made me almost throwup as much as squats :)

Sounds like I would have been a good workout partner for JC....I was DL about the same(can't remember if I repped 5 plates or not), about the same on dumbbells , ect. Im signing up at the 24 hour near my house(Arlington) in the next month, because MetroFlex became too expensive. Hopefully I can gain some of that muscle mass back, and will look 100% better since I lost all my fat. Used to be 230, down to 187...hey, atleast I am cut now :rolleyes:
