Get a call this morning our buildings had lost power, and the UPS failed and so did the generator. Luckily my Unix systems have a seperate UPS, so they stayed up, but all connectivity was lost, since the routers were down.

Well, finally at about 11:30 everything is back up, I'm done rebooting the web/app servers in the remote centers and I get this email (sorta like this...)

Can someone explain why all of our computers here in Sierra Vista all work OK, but we can not work? If the problem is in the Irving center, why would we be having trouble here?

What a fucken dumbass. If the database server is in Irving, what the fuck do you expect to connect too??? Some people are just plain stupid. The local IT guys even forwarded me the email to ask for an explanation. I work with a bunch of tards.

That statement is %100 accurate, almost....well, half right.

LOL, remember your math?
[Chris to the Boss] We are getting %100 backups of the servers we are backing up [/Chirs to the boss]

Fuck if I know, it is old as hell though! The DG Unix servers luckily have their own, DG brand, and they stayed running!
