I love racing little 302's!

Just wanted to sare: i never pick on people to race i always let them come to me.
So today i see this black coupe swirving thru cars trying to catch up to me. So i turn my radio and A/C off and get ready. Sure enuff he pulls up to me and starts revving away. i see the "traditional Mustang MONSTER TACH" and a few pillar gauges. It was some "vato" looking dude so i try to decide if its gonna be worth it. well long story shortr i let him leave (for some reason my horn stoped workin) from about a 20 roll and i suck him up and pass him all in one gear.
He then pulls up to a light i give him the "not bad" hand sighn and he askes the question every guy who just lost asks "you sprayin?"
I said "Not for you." i try to make him feel a little better and ask if he's got a blower, he said "no its just a 302, you got alot more than me."
I tell him "Thats why i won." the light turns green and he hauls ass away. :D

I had another 350 shortblock in the trunk of the car along with some misc leftover pieces from the rebuild. As I exited the freeway (and onto the track) ;) , I noticed this yellow Cobra in my rearview. I thought nothing of it and kept driving. About a couple weeks later when my car was quicker, I was in the staging lanes at Kennedale and saw the guys car. The license plate said F8L-SNK. I got up to the lights and busted off an 8.4 sec. pass on BFG Radial TA's. I went back around to challenge him to a race and low and behold...he was leaving the track. :mad: A buddy of mine told me that the guy ran a high 8 sec pass right before I got there.

I have learned that the most efficient way to determine who has the faster car is to compare the amount of money invested in each car. Of course, a spelling test will be administered in the case of a tie.

Here is my last cheap car and it cost me about 7800 from bumper to bumper to build and i bought the running car for 3500 thats part of the cost I sold parts off of it to cut cost but this is the result on BFG 275 60 Drag radials and soingle exhaust it weighed 3750 with me in it this very pass.

Motor to motor? I have no power adder. I bought mine for $4300 and have about $2000 in mods.

lol sure I can do it with motor just as easily. Do you have any idea what that car could run on motor? If I just pulled the 4l80E out of that car can put in a TH350 or glide used a different cam and a little more stall I could cut the cost to your price easy and run low 7s probably high 6s. That car at that weight with the nitrous cam was a dog but still ran mostly 7.4s and a few quicker ets.

And yes NA more cubes equals more airflow in most cases and on the drawing board all things being equal a larger motor will go faster.

But you did say money mattered I was proving it didnt. Anything that can run in the 6s for under 10k is pretty bad ass in my book.

That sounds cool and I would be more than happy to give you a race. Although there has already been some people offering some good money for the car I can't say how much longer we will have it.....But we are HOPING to enter either of the car's in True Street for Dallas :)

As the car went together....After last friday I made a video of it and was trying to post it, but couldn't get it hosted....I think I'll just wait to post results till later on ;) Just waiting on a G-Force cause we shelled the T-5 the other day. I guess the input shaft didn't like 1.3X 60ft.s so it sheared every single tooth off it.... :o

Man, you would be about 2 hours from oklahoma, I know because I am right there by the border and it's an hour and a half drive to denton. But it's about 4 hours from austin to denton so that's a long drive.

Motor to motor? I have no power adder. I bought mine for $4300 and have about $2000 in mods.

And I believe I said it's how you spend it. I never said I have the best bang for the buck car did I? It's like mikecobra95 said, "I love the 5.0's but it's not easy to get a 302 to run like a 346."


I do pretty good for the money i've invested. I've taken out many of 400+hp ls1's. Use your money wisely.
