I just added a wireless router to my network for my laptop. Well, my wireless router is connected to my wired router. From the laptop I can access websites on the server (connected to the wired router), but I can't access the shares (\\server). Any reason why I can't view shares on the other network?

make sure they are on the same node... what is the ip address of the client and server?

the wireless router may not be rebroadcasting out the windows domain crap. try accessing the share by the ip address and share name \\ipaddress\share

the wireless router may not be rebroadcasting out the windows domain crap. try accessing the share by the ip address and share name \\ipaddress\sharethat worked. so im guessing it has to be DNS related. im going to check the DNS settings on the server and replicate them on the laptop.

ok... im guessing your network is setup like this....
cable/dsl -> wired router w/ ip 192.168.0.1.
wired router -> Wireless Router, the router gets an ip address, the gives the clients a new range of 192.168.2.x...
if that is the case.. you need to setup your wireless router up as an AP.. instead of a router. then everything will work fine...

What do you have your subnet masks set to, they may not be broadcasting to all your ips, or brodcasting to such a big range that it will take a long time for you to pick up the netbios traffic. Its not dns.
