i have power to it but a couple of days ago i noticed that my screensaver locked up and the pc was not responding. i had to do a cold shutdown and when i did my pc started back up but the monitor never came back. the onitor does have power to it. when i try to turn off the monitor and then back it says "no signal found or not connected"
what do you think might be the problem. the video card is a ATI Radeon 9700 Pro. it is about a year old.

usually you should wait about a day or so before ttt'ing your thread.. heck it was still at the top when you did that....
as for your problem.. a bad video card can cause that.. check your monitor on another machine if you can. If not try another video card.

Yep, the monitor isn't receiving a signal due to a bad vid card, a bad video driver, or the monitor itself has crapped out (least likely, since you can read the text on it ;) ).

the radeon 9700 is a pretty good card, might wanna chekc and see what could have caused it to take a crap, ive never had any problems like random video card crappage with ati cards.

is it giving any beep codes, it could be a memory problem or a mb problem, take your vid card out and your memory out and reseat them, if it is beeping post up what the beeps sound like....

there has never been any beeps but tonigh i am going to unseat the vid card and reseat to see if that helps and will do the same to the memory. if it is still bad then what is a good card to go with. my card was actually the ATI 128mb Radeon 9600 xt/se

when did you buy that card?? id check and see if it has some kind of warranty... That is a very decent card... the only step up is probably a 9800XT

the 9800 itself is a step up.
