Is it me, or is the interface so sugarcoated it's just sickening?
Now I've gotta go figure out how to turn off all this crap.
.xinitrc, here I come!

redhat 9 is very bloated... makesure you turn all the crappy services off that you dont need. If you want a tight neat clean system... take a look at slackware. If you want the newbie pretty system.. stick with rehat/fedora/mandrake/suse.
and you wont find much in .xinitrc, /etc/init.d/* you will find all your service files in there.. but use the service manager (gui tool) to start with.

RH 9 has a bunch of vulnerabilities, which I have been painfully made aware of recently. And since they no longer support it, you have to download all the patches one by one. I am switching to Suse 9.1 as soon as I can start swapping machines.
