Im looking at apartments to move out, probably by the end of the year. most of the places ive visited use Comcast which has a peak of 3m/256k. This is what i run on at my house now. But today i found a REALLY great deal on an apartment (856sqft for 544/mo). The only downside is, their internet is a shared T1 on DSL. I called the ISP and they said the max speed i'll see from their service is 516k/256k. Is this going to affect my internet drasitcly? i know that comcast is almost 6x faster then the DSL, but i dont know if im even taking advantage of the full 3mb that Comcast offers. Will the loss affect gameplay/dowload speeds alot? Right now i can do a full song in just under 1 minute for a 192+ bitrate MP3. Is that limited by the hosts upload speed or is that about right for a 3m d/l speed?
It probably sounds kind of stupid basing part of my decision on the apartments by what ISP they have, but the way i see it, when i move out im gonna have ALOT less money to spend, therefore ill be spending more time at home, and alot of that will most likely be on my computer.
