Taking my CHL next month anyone wanna take with??

I am taking my concealed handgun license class next month on 8/21 (saturday) at this place in Fort Worth called DFW Metroplex Training Academy.
The price is $60 a person and starts at 8:30am and last most of the day.
The place normally only does it once a month but if I can get at least 6 people to take it they will have onc just for the group.
You need 50 rounds of ammo for the gun your qualifying with and 2 forms of picture ID. I don't think they have guns to use so I would recommend to bring your own.

Let me know if you wanna go and $60 is dirt cheap for the CHL class

Instead of 2 forms of ID it is 2 passport size photos. The lady said you can go to Eckerd to get them.
If you are 20 you can still take the class but just not able to apply w/ the state for the license.

I would be interested in taking it. I have been wanting to for some time but have never followed through with it. $60 does sound cheap.

right now i have a para ordinace p-10 in .45 but i am going to get a compact 9mm of some kind. i think smith and wesson sw99 or a springfield xd compact. I dont really care much for the glocks but if i could find a glock 19 at a really really chep price i might get it.

That's just for the class. The license fee from Texas is another $140.

what's cheap? I paid 485 for mine in 00 from a guy in mckinney. I bet he would charge about the same for a nib g19.

I think the paperwork from the class is valid for 6mo's. ...so, 6mo's. :)

I believe you have 1 year to send it in or you have to retake the class. $60 is a good price. I just paid $120 for mine

I have a school ID that is state college so I would think that will work. I was going to ask the lady tomorrow what other people have used for the second form of ID.

Since I dont really care for the glocks it would have to be less than that, so it would probable have to be used. I would say $250 or so but not sure if that will happen so its not a real big deal if I get one or not.

Cool, well post up what they will accept as a second form of ID. IM interested in doing the course but I can't think of a second picture ID.. I will be qulifying with a SIG P229 .357 probably.

i have a springfield XD with the 4" barrel and i LOVE it...its an awesome gun! i wish i lived closer cause i wouldnt mind taking the class...60 bucks is cheap!

i have been meaning to take it for yrs now. although it has not stopped me from carrying in the car anyway. i just need to pick a date and go. where in ft. worth is this place? 8-16 soungs as good as any.

New application is two years, renewal is six months.

I just called them and left a message for them to call me back.
I was going to ask them what other form of ID do they accept

how long after the class do we have to get the license from the state

and if they have guns to qualify with if someone does not have one.

any other questions you want me to ask them just post up and let me know

I'm almost certain that I used my Texas Drivers License and my Social Security Card, I'll do some checking and see what I turn up.

You've got two years from the completion of the class to submit the paperwork.

from what I have herd, you can still take the class, you just cant get the state license till you turn 21. The place has not called me back today so I will ask them if you can take it at 20.
