What is your opinion on this deck? I like the memory stick feature, but all I have are mp3s.

very nice head unit, but the Mp3 functions on the Eclipse head unit are lacking.
if mp3 function is a MAJOR concern, go with a different brand.
if having a good head unit, that wont skip, will last awhile, and will be very enjoyable to use is important, then that is a great head unit to get.
i would save my money, and pick up the 8053, it still has the old style face, which I think is more durable.
if you would like to take a look at it, that can be arranged.
i can also make you a good deal.

I had last years version, I think it was an 8453? It was the coolest head unit I've ever had. No memory stick function or mp3 decoder but it looked basically the same with all the same features. Mine was stolen though, making it 3 swiped in a year (2 Eclipses and 1 Kenwood, all with a lockout feature enabled).

8053-2003 top of the line, no high level output
8443-similar to above, with high level outputs, but "only" 8v preouts. the 8053 had 16v balanced outs.
It was an 8443, I remember now:)

i was 9 kinds of pissed off when i found out they weren't making it or anything like it this year. i sold the bujeesus out of them.
Great head unit, especially for the price
now the prices went WAY up on the 5v/8v stuff.
