Beenfetchedlately got me on the tree.. I was a bit leary of beating on the trans brake just yet - since I just put this trans in for the 3rd time. According to Mike I was a little faster .. He had N/T on the window and someone tore the timeslip in two before we got it... The difference in E.T's were .005. My R/T was 2.0!!!!
Then musclestang89 proceeded to drag me too. Again - I had the 2 second reaction time going on.. I went 6.65@103.xx On that pass.. It slowed from the previous 6.4x@105.5 due to a change in the timing that the car did not respond well to.
I have some issues that need to be addressed.. mainly spool time. I have played with the "gain" on the boost controller a little bit.. and damn that thing is touchy.
My other alternative is to change the exhaust housings on the turbos down to .69's instead of the .81's I have now.
Decisions Decisions.

nice run, I guess:rolleyes: It might have been a better race if you wouldn't have gotten a 2.0 reaction time:D And you ran a 6.56 against me. I only ran a 6.9@103:( with a 1.71 60ft. I'm not for sure why it slowed down, maybe cause of the weather. Then I raced Beenfetchedlately to, but I got behind a car with street tires that drug the water pretty bad. It only ran a 7.2@100 with a 1.79. Thats was just sad I got my ass drug pretty bad. I think he even let off at the end. not telling though cause the slip was tore in half :p
Oh well that was my first time at Kennedale on a Friday night and it wa pretty fun. Lots of badass cars out there and tons of people.

turbostang, you're going to need the .69s if you want that thing to spool. You've got a whole lot of turbo on that car.
musclestang89, the weather was playing tricks on you.
LMAO at the time slips being torn in half. The Low Order of Secretive Time Slips got you.

Yeah Brooks my single turbo with an .81 spooled around 3K, so I would imagine that it's taking forever to spool with only 4 cylinders.....
I would be curious what it spools to on the freeway.....

homo.
I did manage a 6.49@105.5 which is back to "normal". Even with the not-so-good weather.
Kirk.. I tried to change the timing in the manner we talked about. That is when the car slowed alot.. for whatever reason it doesn't like the advanced timing. There could be another reason.. but as of yet.. I dont know why..
Chris.. on the freeway...

Brooks, I am no engine guru, but after 3 blown headgaskets I was finding out that my motor didn't like much timing either...
On pump gas I was detonating at 17-18 under boost even with the intercooler. I think my car was running past the point of productive timing every time I took it to the track.
I took it down to 11 degrees total on pump gas but ran 10 psi and it ran much better than it did at 7 psi and 15 degrees.
There may be something to big cube motors with good flowing heads not requiring as much advance or something...
If it were my car I would just keep the timing way conservative and up the boost a little bit at a time, then creep up on the timing to see what effect it has on your MPH after you start getting consistent runs........

well - I did dyno it like I mentioned above. and it DID loose power later in the RPM range.. but I wanted to test it to confirm. I did also play with a different curve that advanced the timing early and then pulled it away after torque peak.. it made mad power before 4200 and tapered off... So I will probably just stick with that.

The lady in the boothe is your friend....Especially if you work with her for 3-4 days out of the week.
Against Brandon I ran 7.14@101 with a 1.79 60..LOL
Earlier in the night I had a pair of 1.3 60s again. I guess the stiffs are working for me. Now I jsut need to go on a diet...This pig weighs over 3500 lbs with me and 2 bottles :(
Good runs either way guys. Good luck on getting the things working really hard in this kinda weather.
