Well last year in feb.. i bought a 03 f150 XLT supercab from skip.. well.. because of that Evil pompous ass.. i am now the proud owner ( my wifes car) of an 04 f150 FX4 fully loaded truck.. 4x4.. loader.. power captains chairs.. 18" rims.. its PIMPING!!!

shit.. im stuck driving the escort.. its my WIFE's truck.. i get to drive it when she doesnt feel like driving.. its pimp.. my old 4.6 "felt " peppier.. mostly because i havent gone past 1/2 throttle or 3k rpm on this one and was going WOT everywhere in the 4.6.. it just wasnt enough.. this one is so quite and refined.. that you get a very slugish lathargic feeling.. but you barely give it gas, glance down and you are doing 80...

It has the FX4 black leather interior, Dual captains chair, power driver seat, Heated mirrors, Tow package, 3.73s, 5.4 V8 , Reverse sensing.. etc.its pimp

What I find amazing on the new F-150s is how quiet they are!
Some of the luxo cars I've had weren't that quiet!

bill agree!! when i bought my 03 i was impressed that for a truck.. it had a smooth ride and was relatively tame noise wise inside.. but the 04 is a different animal. it is SO quiete inside.. and the ride is amazing.Bill i agree with you 100%..

I have bought and help buy about a a dozen new/used cars from a car dealer before.. and i can tell you that Skip single handedly changed my opinion on buying ford..i'm 100% certain that when it is time for this truck to go.. it will go back to 5 star and i will trade up again.. Also. i have seem many dealers who " find a way" to get you into a car and get your payment what you want , and later you find out they fucked you. I was VERY impressed the first time i bought from skip to how well he took care of me and my wife. Everything was open.. no hagling.. come in.. pick your car.. and leave with an awesome deal. nothing hidden.. no sneaky dealings.. just 100% amazing customer service..

i think the 03 was rated at 14/19 and the 04 is 14/18.. but .. i daily drove my 14 mpg city supra and my 12 mpg TA both for over a year.. so the truck is actualy GOOD on gas considering it can run 87 octane.. but i think im gonna keep 89 in it..

for the first few miles i kill the clutch i the escort.. because the supra clutch is 1000x harder.. but in all honestly.. i have had my escort 15k miles so far.. and for a cheap little car.. i love it.
seats 4.. power nothing.. manual windows.. but the only problems i have had was (1) a major relay box went out.. cost me $150 in parts..
(2) the little tab on the brake pedal fell off that triggered the brake lights. os they stayed on and killed the bat.. so $40 for a battery and i ghetto rigged a new piece onto the pedal..
i get a consistant 30mpg.. no matter how hard i beat on it.
as much as i want to get a nicer car.. i like being able to park where i want and not worry about door dings.. but sometimes the lack of power is really annoying..
