Well we just got home from St. Louis....

We ran Wild Street with "86 393"s car. This is the red 86 GT some may have seen at Denton trying to sort out 60 ft times.

We arrived Wed to test the new tires/converter/Nos controller only to get rained out. Friday was a frog choker when we woke up but the rain left around noon.

Test pass on new Drag Radials Friday was a 10.26 ish and the Nos tune seeme fine. Saturday morning they allowed us one extra free run so we hopped up the hose and went up for a 1/8th mile test and went an all time best of 6.12@116 mph!!

The cruise rolls around and 33 cars were entered. 4 or 5 were hurt from Fridays test time....2 dropped out on the cruise...then the three back to back runs started. Last years winner fell out before the first run. We run 9.83 with a soft tune on the hose and the tires hooked so we hopped it up a bit for run #2. Long story short...we ran out of nitrous. Two 10lb bottles but one was filled wrong so we went 10.26....third pass was a 10.54 for a 10.22 average. That put us #9 out of the original 33 cars.

Sunday is go time. We win 1st round shaking and spinning to a 9.90. Soften the nitrous since we draw Shane Faught from Nebraska. He beat us last year and spanks a 8.39 on our surging/wheezing aborted run. Nothing we could do against that fast of a car. 3 cars went 8.35 or better in the 2nd round of Wild Street!!! Not a huge car count but some serious hitters!!!

In the end...we ran some new personal best times, won a couple bucks, and the car is like new and ready to race again!!!

Lots of breakage and carnage but lots of parachutes. We were one of two cars in the 2nd round without a chute!!! lol

If you have never been to WFC....plan it now for next year...Pro cars running 6.40@218!!!

Hahaha..yeah the exhaust stayed on just fine. Bolts seem to work better than clip pins!

The silver Saleen is Mike Keenan from New Mexico. 2 other cars went 8.20's, Shane Faught from Nebraska (he won) and another turbo car, white Fox body LX. Greg Lapointe also went 8.70's I think in a twin turbo SN-95. It looked like you had to have a black SN-95 Turbo car to even enter out there!!
