Probably not since noones insurance will cover a 16 year old. You might get to hang out and go to the track every once in a while but anything involving you working on something of a customers would be a major liability.
Just a little bit of advice....People don't call you for a job, unless you're a prostitute.
So, you might try calling around to the different place that you are interested in and find out if they are hiring or not. Maybe a dealership will hire you as a porter. Most places will tell you the same thing: "you have to work your way up in the car business." Meaning you'll have to start as a porter at a dealership. Try a few dealerships for a car/shop porter, they might hire you. Most places dealing with cars want you to be a least 17, and make sure you have at least a years worth of clean driving.

Check out the little lube centers and the car washes that have them. I worked at Colonial car wash in the lube center and at Quik Car, while I was in High School.

Check with your school to see if the have a work program. If they do ask one of the vocational teachers if they have any job hook ups. That is how I started out. I also only had to got to school for 3 periods and got credit for 4 since I had a job

grocery store, fast food, put out fliers around your neigborhood for a lawn service. Try out a temp service like manpower or somthing like that. there are tons of them in the phonebook under employment
