If interested in working for the railroad go to "www.uprr.com" and then click on "jobs at U.P." the job to have is called TRAIN SERVICE, which is a conductor, switchman, brakeman and engineer. this is where you will make the most money. they are also hiring in many other areas. THE HIRING PROCESS IS VERY LONG AND DRAWN OUT IT COULD TAKE MONTHS TO GET HIRED SO DON'T BE IN ANY HURRY. THEY WILL CONDUCT A FULL BACKGROUND AND PREVIOUS WORK HISTORY CHECK, SO DON'T LIE!!!!! THEY WILL FIND OUT. any questions pm me. i work for them out of dallas/ftworth:D :D :D
He's not joking when he says you'll get paid a lot of money. My cousin is a "hog-head" or a train driver for Burlington Northern Santa Fe and is pulling $115,000 a year. Granted you spend most your time sitting in the cab all week long, it's still good money! Especially if you're not married yet!
No local train service jobs as of this morning. And yeah, it's like trying to get on with the post office. You apply, 3 months later they invite you and 200 other people to a hiring process. Make you take a lot of tests and then you wait for a few more months. Then when they hire you it's 14 weeks of school.
I know BNSF's guarantee is $875 per week, thats if you are on the extra board and sit on your ass all week (it does happen in the metroplex).
