I was checking to order some tires today I need a 28x10x15" tire and kinda wanted the et streets or the hoosier equivalent but they only have 26x10 or 28x11 whats up with that? they have a 28x10 in the et drag....

28x11.5 is what you want. they measure the DOT at the side wall, so they measure wider, why? i do not know.

The 28x11.5 ET Street actually has a narrower tread width than a 26x10 ET Drag. Check out M/T's site (http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/strip.html) for more info but it looks like the 28x13.5 ET Street has an 11" tread width where the 28x11.5 has an 8.6" tread width.

I think the hoosier DOT's run a little bigger.

so im running some bald radials right now, just regular street tires, do you guys think these tires will knock off .11 seconds on my 1/8th mile times? Im trying to break into the 9's
I believe slicks or et streets will get you an 9 sec. 8th mile pass well high 9s anyway

Are you spinning now? Are you able to go full throttle the whole pass? If you're only trying to run in the 9's, you may not need that much tire.

a 28x12.5 ET Street is 10.5 inches wide.
It is the street version of the 28x10.5 slick.

I have 27x8" radials and spin all through first and the better part of second. I think 28x10 will be alright for getting into the 9s

I think 28x10 will be alright for getting into the 9s if they are street tires, then just switching to some ET Drags will make a hell of a differants. unless you have crazy steep gears, or are make crazy horse power, there is not way you need 28" tall tires. hell 26x8.5 is enough to hold most cars, and get them into the sevens.

I thought about going full slick, but I kinda wanna have a dot tire since I drive it on the street about once a week. are 4.56's considered "crazy steep gears" ?

I would go with the 28x11.50 et street depending on your gearing. The 28x11.50 et streets are about the same size of 26x10 slick. I have ran low 7s on motor and have cut 1.54 60fts with them... If you go to a slick I would run a 28x9 or smaller 26" slick... this is just my .02
