Do an LS1 fool. Your Ford friends would know more about an LS1 motor than a mod

Looks good shane. I was looking at it about a week ago at PTK. I lover the motor plates that mike did for the car. I am having a set made for me to. Mike does good work and the kit looks badass.

What is that blue tubular bar that is welded to where the motor plate bracket is and the strut tower?

Part of the roll cage. I am guessing for his class he has to have the stock strut towers in place and some of those guys go thru the firewall to the back of the ST and then put another bar on the frontside.

Okay cool. I'm doing motor plates in my coupe and i was kinda wondering if that's something that is needed for reinforcement for the plate tabs.

You may be right JC. That is right on top of the motor plates.

It's just more reinforcement. Most guys only go to the shock tower and not forward to the rails. Even Dan Millen's car only has bars going through the firewall to the backs of the shock towers.

the reason you really don't see those bars in front of the shock towers alot, is the fact, if you wreck the car in the front, the driver absorbs more of the impact with the bars. Without the bars, their is more of a crush area before the collision gets into the roll cage, which the driver is tied too.
