You can get some tar remover from auto stores. Or, use a clay bar system from Meguiars or Mothers. That works pretty well also.
Something else that works(not great But it works) is WD40.

The best thing that I have used is the 3M General Adhesive Remover... just put some on a rag and apply the elbow grease..;) I had some on y car today after I finished washing her, gone now.. and in less than 60 seconds too...
Just my .02...

I've also used WD-40 on tar and road grime that was fairly fresh and it seemed to work good.
Remember if you're going to clay bar something, you HAVE to keep your surface wet with the detailing mist, otherwise it won't work for crap. A clay bar is a pretty mild form of surface contaminant removal. Always start with mild and work your way up. Otherwise you're looking at a color/sand/buff and that sucks.

I'm thinking that since it seems pretty easy to mess up , I will just let somebody else takle it and watch and learn.
thanks for all the helpful info.
Well, if you just watch what you're doing, it's not that bad. Just start with mild stuff and work your way from there if you need to.
