Anyone up for a cruise?

I said I would throw a free (read: no cover) bash for DFWstangs.net members, and here's what I have so far:

A 2 day cruise, being about 4 hours each way. I'd like to leave from a regular meeting place, so that it's easy for everybody, and then head down to the first stop, in Stephenville, Texas, for what is arguably the best BBQ in the state, at Hard 8 BBQ (if you're a vegetarian, I hope you like baked potatoes). The nex leg of the trip would be down to LLano, to a friend of mine's ranch, and a cookout and kegger. I'm going to supply 2 kegs, so past that, you'll have to fend for yourselves. I'd like to leave early (about 10am), down I-35E, and take US-67 to Stephenville (it's picturesque, really). The next leg would be through the west hill country and on to LLano. Sunday's run would be into Austin and back up I35. Everybody would have to buy their own steaks for Saturday night, and I think a stop on the way out at a cafe for breakfast will keep things pretty cheap.

Who's down, and, would anyone like to contribute to and/or sponsor the weekend?

What kind of drive is it to Llano?

it's hilly and gorgeous, through a few small towns. Don't forget to get some Dublin Dr. Pepper when you're between Stephenville and Commanche (Dublin is in there somewhere).

Cruises like this are fun. I'm going on one to Austin in April, with a trip around Lake Travis on saturday, and saturday night on 6th street.

I think the sooner the better to take advantage of this great weather, otherwise its gonna be hot as hell.

The site's been approved by my buddy's 'rents, and we're gonna go see them this weekend and hammer out some details. the first weekend they have open is when it's goin' down, so get ready!

We've been approved for around 10 cars, and that will keep things chill. Here's the rundown: Everyone has to bring their own food (I recommend steaks or pork loin, but burgers will work). My boy has a dope pit down there, and we make our own mesquite coals. I'm fronting 2 kegs, 1 bud light (by request), and 1 shiner light (by preference). You need to bring your own sleeping bags, because you'll probably be on the floor. We're still waiting on an exact date, but it will be soon. Also, you can float the LLano river just like the Guadalupe, so if you're not cooking, you might bring a tube.

Rules: no drugs on the property of any kind, and no fucking with the animals (ask which ones are safe to approach).

If all this sounds cool, call my cell at (214) NOT-GONNAHAPPEN, and we'll start coordinating.
