View Full Version : Bush and his record?

Does anyone else think that it is funny that the Bush administration is getting off easy for a major screw up. Clinton was almost impeached for letting an intern perform oral sex. Bush and his staff misleads us into a war he has no clue how to get out of, gets over 500 service members killed. No one seems to be calling for him to answer up to his poor leadership and even worse his ignorance to our slumping economy.
Not sure about anyone else but I am very tired of seeing our men and women in uniform killed for non-9-11-01 reasons. I understand that service members have a duty to move out when called by our nation. I served for nine years. I also know that it is the duty of the President and his staff to make sure they have their stuff together before we invade another nation and fail to lay out a complete plan. The Bush administration has dropped the ball.
What is our nations fate if the country is to be run by those chosen on capital hill before the voters can really choose. I think Kerry and Bush are bad choices.

ahhhh typical brainwashing. i hope you realize that everything you spit out in this post is straight out of the media. do you believe everything you see on CNN or fox news? if you do then i have a beatiful chateau for sale on the beach in arizona. thats partly whats wrong with this country.. the whole place is run by the big media. they show you what they want to show you. you don't see the whole truth. this leads to a land full of harmless sheep who are unaware of the true pack of wolves.

Bush is the only one with any balls to stand up to that A-hole. Misleads? Because there's no weapons of mass destruction? EVERYBODY thought there was w.m.d's. Even the Clinton admin. Unfortunately Clinton did nothing when we were attacked the first time -making us look like wussies. Then he screwed up Bosnia, Serbia, Kosovo, etc. Bush inherited a mess. You can call it poor leadership (and sound stupid) but at least there IS leadership this time. Al Gore would've apologized profusely to the terrorists and pleaded with them to not strike again. John Kerry wants to be an ass kissing appeaser too. Thank God someone like Bush is president at a time when we need a leader most.

Look at some of the foreign countries that are endorcing John Kerry, Korea, that anti-Semite Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad. There is a reason the world wants Kerry as president instead of Bush, its because with Bush at the helm the world isn't a safe place for nuclear weapons in the hands of terrorists.
<------ served under the great President Reagan and would gladly do so again under President Bush.

I can put this in any forum I want it's called "public" for a reason. I am also a an ex-service member 9 years army from 89-98 with lots of friends over there. How do you explain his latest goof of ignoring the seriousness of 911. Let me guess Clinton right, well I don't have to study to tell you that the downsizing of the services began after the cold war in 90-91 prior to Clinton getting elected. So pick your posion.
Also I am not ignorant enough to believe either party has the answer to get us out of mess we are in now. The war in Iraq has zero to do with terror in comparrison to Afghanistan.

and you find this "quality" in kerry? so let me ask you this. you are in the army, the U.S. is attacked. wouldn't you want your president to issue orders to repel and retaliate? under kerry this won't happen. he will have to go to the un, ask for help from them and give the ok to use OUR OWN troops to do this. Go read more about kerry. he has stated time and time again the he will relequish all power over our military to the UN. i personally wouldn't like that. i don't think many americans would like that.

Please refrain from placing words in my mouth. I never said that I felt Kerry was the answer, I wanted Edwards to run on the Dem ticket. I feel that McCain should have been the Presidential candidate in 2000. Had McCain ran I would have voted for him in a heartbeat. When everyone else was serving in Vietnam Bush was hiding in a cockpit for the Air Nation Guard I see Bush as a very poor descision maker, I have never believed in placing our military under the control of the UN. So pay attention to what is written before you spout out about what I believe, I don't put words in your mouth so don't talk for me. I think Bush has really screwed this up and his father didn't exactly help out by not finishing the job the first time. I spent 9 months in that hole in 90-91 and 3 months in 94 so I am quite aware of S.W. Asia and what should have been done. The reason we didn't finish off Desert Storm in Iraq was purely political. As for the terrorist threat, we attacked Iraq on the basis of WMD not for support of terrorist. Now that they can't locate the WMD they Bush administration pulls it's chump card, terrorism. I would love to see terrorism squashed but you can't use it as an excuse for global war at our soldiers expense. This administration seems to act before they think things through. Also we do need to maintain a relationship with other nations in the world and not become isolationists which is what we were prior to Pearl Harbor in 1941.

What do you mean we didnt go into Iraq on the basis of terrorism?? Colin Powell went to the UN with PROOF of terrorist activity in Iraq way before we went into Iraq the second time. How unfortunate that everyone forgets that part. Also, about WMDs, the FRICKIN UN gave Saddam 11 years to hide all of his weapons. Imagine trying to find these weapons in a country the size of California all made of sand. Also, he had Syria's help in all of this and if we could get in there, you would probably find the WMDs. Even the democrats(Kerry included) agreed Saddam had weapons of mass destruction.

Keep telling yourself that, I am sure you really believe Bush gives two poops about the american people. Our economy is horrible, the only reason he is working so hard to get Iraq to form it's own government is due to the fact it's an election year. I have no problem if he does another 4 year term. I'll still be receiving my VA check, teaching school and taking the summers off. I trust Powell but he was just repeating what he was told by the US intelligence agencies, unreliable at best. Several countries have supported terrorism and we haven't attacked them. Let me tell you why they never planned to assassinate Bush's father. He threatenen Saddam on world wide tv with that before the war, what leader does that. Do you have any idea how hard it is to stop someone who thinks being killed in a holly jihad is the better than goats milk. You need to read between the lines a little. This administration is ate up like a soup sandwhich.

So you are telling me that Bush is to blame for the US intelligence being inaccurate??? And what does the Iraqi government have to do with the fact that it is an election year??? APPLES AND ORANGES. Name the countries that support terrorism that we either havent warned or made a significant attempt to recognize. And NOW to the economy!!! It has everything to do with an election year. Bush wants to show that he has in some way made progress in Iraq in order to down play all of our soldiers getting killed. Why haven't we applied more resources to Afgahnistan? It is because we are pumping those resources into Iraq and for what? I'll vote republican if they show me a candidate that can lead. I can also tell you this administration is to blame for the economy. The policies of this administration have not stepped up to improve the economy. The poor money handling has de-valued the dollar in global econmics, jobs that are over seas have not been brought back as they should. We need a domestic and foriegn policy administration that can step up, recommend and implement new policies for this new age. Also with the right policies we could have began a more rapid recovery from 9-11. I hear this poor excuse about a jobless economic recovery. Might as well be cooking the books in the eyes of the people who are unemployed that rate is holing steady at 5.6 percent.

US just sent in several thousand units to afgahnistan yesterday. The military is setting up long term military bases (14 to be exact) in Iraq. They have fortified a several long term bases in the mountains of afgahnistan.

Libya can't fix a sink, little less make any WMDs. You read that from a Blair report that has the same background as the Iraqi WMD we haven't found yet. Gaddafi is insane and was done in by good ole Ron Reagan. Now he was a good President. Oh yeah the Iraqi WMD must be in Syria. Funny how if they were we never saw them move. Also for your info we have been operating in the region and controlling the air in Iraq since Gulf I ended. I'm speaking from experience not the news paper or magazines. I did 4 tours over there total including Desert Shield/Storm , Operation Positive Force and Operation Intrinsic Actions I and IV. How can you say what Gore would have done if faced with 9-11 or Iraq? Can you fortune tell or something? It is ignorant to speak for others. I never say what Bush is going to do, I simply point out what has been done. We attacked another nation not sure we should have, now I have several friends that have been wounded or killed. I can honestly say I am tired of the current strategy in Iraq, it is not working. I am tired of seeing our troops being placed in harms way by an unqualified leader. This administration had a duty to ensure everything was legitimate before we acted.

What units deployed that is news to me are you sure ? I'm not seeing it anywhere. What size Units, if you are speaking in Division size elements you have no idea what you are talking about. If you are speaking in Brigade size elements your still over estimating or embellishing what has been sent. If you know anything about military logistics then you know it takes 4 support troops for every one combat troop. So for every 5000 combat troops you deploy i.e infantry, tanks, artillery a minimum of 20,000 must be sent to support them, chow, personnell, finance, supply, etc.
Speaking on dropping the ball on terrorism here is what I have been following.
Here is todays CNN top story does Rice have something to hide? "The White House has told the panel investigating the 9/11 attacks that Condoleezza Rice, President Bush's national security adviser, wants another private meeting with the commission. Commission members and relatives of some victims have called for Rice to publicly testify before the panel."

Yeah really, two planes full of americans blow through New York City, and within hours Afghanistan comes on TV and says "we have no idea what happened" What's the next move?
Later, the problem with Iraq is that the WMD issue is getting too touchy and Saddam is hiding something. So what do we do, we blow through Iraq like a sand storm and shut them down. Oddly enough we didn't kill every single person in Iraq and some of those remaining people have a problem with new government, What's the next move?

i'll tell ya what i would do... i'd call up the org. in question and tell them the same thing i heard on russ martin the other day.. i'd tell them that i have 2 cities that start with H and N targeted. now are you going to hand over the ppl resposible or are those cities gonna turn to glass?
i can't speak for everyone.. but i'm tired of hearing ppl talk peace that and peace this. it has never worked. show me where it has and i would listen. but history shows that force and power is what the whole deal boils down to. do ppl really think that if we go and talk to dictators like saddam, reason with them, that they would stop the mass murdering of thier own ppl? that they would stop the wanting of more land to add to their own? that our WORDS would stop the maddness? has it ever worked? simple awnser of no. it has not worked. it has always ended up in a fight. and always will untill the day comes that ppl like kerry get thier way and start the NWO. one govt. one controlling body for the whole world. one military police. one establishment that tells everyone what to do, what to think, where to go. thats not for me. i'll go to some unknown south pacific island and live the rest of my years with my guns, my tabacco if i so choose, my own thoughts about how i feel, and what i choose to do with my body and possesions.
sorry for the rant.. but thats just a scratch on the surface on how i feel about these pussies that do nothing but let ppl die while they "talk peace". i think we have 2 options.. either go back to the way we were in the 30's and early 40's and seclude ourselves, quit being the world police, or if we see someone like saddam or bin laden, we go after them and nip the whole problem in the bud so to speak.

I still find it hard to believe some of you keep writing without reading. So "hey dingy" let's check this now. I never said I felt Kerry is the answer, I think he's kind of ignorant in his own way. I also feel Bush is an idiot that got elected for his last name. I feel McCain would been the best choice for America. As for what I teach my kids it has nothing to do with current politics it is history the state has a Scope and Sequence we follow; however, I can understand your just too damn dumb to stop trying to speak for me. I have no idea what you teach people around you but I am grounded in my beliefs and do not force them on others. When I do go into politics, I teach my students both sides of politics and keep my opions out of it, even when they ask. I have never seen a hard core republican teacher do such they are usually pushy. I hate pushy people. I give my students the knowledge(power) to make their own desicions. I don't abuse my position by forcing my views of the world on them I'm not always right like you are "LMAO".
Also for anyone looking for me this weekend, I work on my own mustangs and I only post monday through friday.

I love the people who spew liberal CNN type crap, then talk about how conservative they are or how middle of the road they are. Why do people who speak liberal get so upset when called what they are?

That statement shows how much of a idiot you are. The Commander and Chief that would be George W. Bush has a duty to plan a systematic approach to any conflict before placing our troops in harms way. News flash he did not do that. Collin Powell has even showed his discontent for the way Iraq is going. Some of his advice has been ignored. Also your no better than a commumnist if you view our troops that way. It is also abvious that either you didn't serve in the military or if you did, the country is safer now that you are out.

holy shit dude.... that was straight from fox news... do you really think that signing up for the army or other military branch is a cream pie? you sign up with the thought htat if we go to war... you are there. you are going to be shot at and possibly killed. i have yet to meet someone that didnt' think about the risk or possibility. how does that statment make him a communist? how can you really think that no one is going to get hurt? how many ppl have died in the thousands of years of war? War is a bloody mess. ppl are going to die and that is part of what they signed up to do. ever heard of the phrase.. die for our country? you need to sit back and take a look at history and the world and realize we had two options. one to sit and do nothing with our thumb up our butt and wait for something to happen again or go in there and take out the taliban and then saddam. who cares if he had WMD. he was a known terrorist supportter and killed thousands of ppl just for a laugh.

Do you have any idea what it is like to be a soldier. I am 50% disabled through the VA and know exactly what sacrifice is all about try 9 years. I also am aware of history, I have a degree in it. If you knew about history you'd know the communist used to push their soldiers into war under the threat of death which is pretty close to suicide, reminds me of Iraq. We send our troops into those conditions without proper equipment and training. Well right now we are sending conventional forces into guerilla type warfare, reference Vietnam dippy. As a matter of fact go study about the Tonkin Gulf issue that sent us sliding into Vietnam via LBJ. I know history and those whose fail to learn from it are doomed to repeat it. I agree with war when planned correctly and like I said earlier I never saw any of you( that are so willing to send our troops over their now) standing next to me under fire. I do care if the Government lied about WMD, if you don't your just following along like a puppy dog. I am not a yes man, are you? I am not a liberal or a Republican but I can tell you until we fight them in an unconventional role we will not completely destroy them or their will. My idea would be to insure all of our rounds are maybe loaded with a little bit of pig. That way when they get shot by us they already know they are not going to Allah. So the day you wear a uniform and understand what a soldier goes through in combat then talk. Until then I am going to have ask you to shut that garbage pit below your nose that you call a mouth.

so you are telling me you had no idea that there was a possibility that you would go to war and get shot at and watch ppl die when you inlisted? i applaud you for signing up and fighting for our country.. i never said anything otherwise... but maybe i am not making myself clear. i'll try to spell it out as clearly as possible.
the death toll of the Iraq war is less than a quarter of what the 9/11 day. if we did nothing.. and sat .. and went on with our lives like nothing happened, more deaths would occur. no doubt about it. then other groups would see that we did nothing and they too would strike and more americans died on our home soil. is that what your saying should have happened? personally i have never been in true combat.. i've had to dodge the occasional bullet in downtown, but not all out combat. i think if you looked at it from a 3rd person and not personally, your outlook would be totally different. both sides have to want peace in order for it to work. saddam and bin laden could care less about it. they would come back again and again.
and yes.. i could care less if they didn't find WMD. they took care of something that should have been crushed 14 yrs ago or so. yes it took 500 + lives to do it. casualties of war. has nothing to do with communisum. our own gov't used to kill deserters on sight. what is the difference? our country had the draft. the draft FORCED young americans into combat AGAINST thier will. they didn't choose to go. is that communism? if so then what you are teaching is a lie and we need to rewrite all the american history books and replace democracy with communism.
i stand up and thank you for your service and efforts, but your views are skewd by the media and what your being spoon fed. you are for getting out of there, but yet can't seem to let go of the hatred for those ppl. can't play for both sides of the team. either in there taking care of business or sitting here hoping some pansy with flowers can sit down and have a nice pork sandwich with bin laden.

What is our nations fate if the country is to be run by those chosen on capital hill before the voters can really choose. I think Kerry and Bush are bad choices.
Let me offer you an alternative, non media hyped view of the Iraq war.
First off, the situation:
You are president and you potentially have thousands of terrorists and hundreds of thousands of people who dislike your country. A mere nineteen of the SOB's crashed planes into the heart of your financial and military ditricts, sending a grim looking economy spiraling into chaos. You know little of the groups, as a crook occupied the white house before you, and he cut intelligence and military to a shoe string budget.
Second, your reaction:
You attack the heart of the terrorist group that originated the plot, and liberate Afghanistan from their grip....Something the Soviet Union could never do you did in a matter of weeks. From the intelligence you gather in Afghanistan, you discover that there are potentially hundreds of terrorist cells around the world. You might have the terrorists in Afghanistan on the run, but elsewhere they are uninterrupted. You plea the the Free world for help in eradicating these terrorists and you get a handful of willing countries. The French don't want anything else to do with terrorists....they have had their fill.
What would you do?
You could take on a murderous, tyrannical, terrorist friendly dictator in the middle of the region that breeds terrorist activity, under the skeptical premise of WMD. You kick his butt in an incredible show of force and occupy the country. Then, you find no weapons. The world says they were misled on Iraq, and every potential terrorist has a "god given" reason to go try and liberate Iraq from the "unjust" American occupation. Although not an ideal situation for our troops, it is a form of voluntary genocide for the terrorists. Essentially we root out evil on their turf 1/2 way around the world, reducing the threat at home.
You also show the world that despite the downsizing of the American military, it can kick some major a$$. Syria, Iran, and Libya are terrified that they are next, and are, to some extent, cooperating with the US.
If this is the case, it was/is a Brilliant plan. I dont think any balls were dropped, thats a home run and I think history will show this.
Also, please pray for the safety of our troops, they are putting their lives on the line over there so we can enjoy our freedom over here. I have friends over there right now, and I know its their job to do this, but they need all the help and support they can get.

Well my old skill identifier's were 11B2V if you aren't up on what that means it's Sergeant infantry airborne ranger then 19K3V Staff Sergeant M1 tanks. I was in Kuwait the first time and have the papers to back up eerything I push. I also don't recall saying anything about pulling out and dropping Iraq on it's ass. Oh by the way it is too late for that. As for where we are now, soon and very soon our troop KIA numbers will reach 600 did you know that we did not loose 500 troops our first 3 years in Vietnam.
Ummm, does the air farce count as the service?

Well dipshit, here I go again, what are you considering the first 3 years of Vietnam? 1967? Go back, way back and look at what the wonderful JFK (btw he was a Communistic Democrat too)was doing, true, there weren't 600 "advisors" over there the first 3 years so how can you kill that many?
You were still shitting Basic training chow and I'd already been laid on 6 different continents compliments of the USMC so take your brainwashed can't CUNT attitude and go crawl back between your momma's legs She needs a screwing again, and My donkey caught the clap the last time I hauled him over.
BTW, thank you whoever put this in the smackhouse.

I was gonna ask the same question to him, what does he consider the first year. I am guessing since we had advisers in '63 or so that could be the "first" year. I would love to see where he gets his less than 500 in the first 3 years figures from.

Shut up dick head, I have a degree in Hiostory so here I go for your non reading hook on phonics ass. Our first advisors hit Vietnam on 1955. The number reached well over 500 by 1959 when the they established 13 districts. Conventional forces weren't deployed until 1965 being the Army Infantry and Marines. Oh by the way JFK was dead by then dumbass, it was Johnson who really fucked up Vietnam. Kennedy had a decent conflict management record. So if your ignorant ass has forgotten they would be Bay of Pigs and Cuban Missle Crisis. So shut your mouth shit bird, go fuck yourself, your donkey and any empty beer you have piled up in your closet. Oh by the way I put this in the smack house STUPID. One more thing you sound like a closet liberal

hey... one of those MOS's is mighty familiar ;)
i don't agree with your stance on iraq though. i am a firm believer of .223 logic. the 600 or so deaths are a drop in the bucket compared to any previous full scale war. hell more people died in normandy than that.
one day the world will be able to look back at the ultimate sacrifices of these FEW soldiers, along with the hard stance it took to put them there by our nation's leaders. yes it really sucks, i too know people that won't be making the trip back from iraq and afghanistan, but their deaths are not in vain.
i will continue to give the leader's their support even though sometimes it doesn't make sense. i am not in a position to see the whole picture or what goes on behind closed doors, much like anyone else on here. that's why they get paid the big bucks!!

I did 6 years in the Air Force and no one made me sign up for that stint. I volunteered for duty and was available at the discretion of the Commander in Chief. I do not think anyone should die unnecessarily, but the price of liberty and freedom is not always an easy bill to pay.
