Here are the pics of the transmission and driveshaft after the GM VS F*rd race last month. A friend and I just pulled the tranny out today.

I'll bet there was some clenching going on with all of that happening under the car.

ya.. the motor is fine. And yes it scared the shit out of me when it let loose. Since it happened at the finishline and it was a loud ass pop when it let loose. Hood popped up and all.

I take it, that you ended up fine, except for your shorts. In that case, glad to hear it. :)

Yes. I got the car stopped and pulled over to the side of the track as quick as I could. It could have been MUCH worse of the trans had actually busted in the middle where I circled the hairline crack considering that they sent the next 2 cars down the track while I was still on the track. The cars behind me were Andrew (in my lane) and the other lane was Chris's black turbo hatch. Luckly Andrew saw me when he got to about half track and let out but if there would have been tranny fluid on the track and the rear part of my driveshaft had not rolled off of the track then he would have hit that and all hell would have broke loose. :eek: I know I was freeking out when I saw Andrew launch and I sitting on the track just past the finish line.:eek:

That was real stupid of them letting others run before clearing the track! Glad your ok!
BTY.........when did they start putting 2-piece driveshafts in Camaros? :D

hell, all Andrew and i was doing, was watching the tree come down, who care about some stinkin chevy on the track

BTW, do you have solid motor and transmission mounts?

I have solid motor mounts and a polyurathane trans mount. This happened because one of the ballancing weights on the driveshaft came off so the shaft was out of ballance.
