Is there any members thinking about making any of the Hot Rod Power Tour this year? I would like to find some Moostangs to cruise with at least to the Oklahoma stop on Sunday. Feel free to PM me if you would like.

I'm oping to have my camaro with a new motor in it by that time, so, yeah, I should be going. I'll probably be going all the wa up to St. Louis, then making a line to Colorado.

It's not hitting Arlington or Oklahoma. We plan on starting in Springfield and ending in either Birmingham or Tallahassee. Which car we are driving is still not determined though.

Here's the 2005 schedule:

June 4 Miller Park - Milwaukee, WI
June 5 Illinois State Fairgrounds - Springfield, IL
June 6 Indianapolis Raceway Park - Indianapolis, IN
June 7 Gaylord Opryland Resort - Nashville, TN
June 8 Birmingham Race Course - Birmingham, AL
June 9 North Florida Fair - Tallahassee, FL
June 10 Osceola Heritage Park - Kissimmee-St. Cloud, FL
June 11 return to Osceola Heritage Park for Long Hauler Award and Photo

Theres only one hot rod powertour ever. One per year. You must be thinking of the americruise. I drove the bird 3,000 miles last year on the power tour. Heres my long hauler award. Also made it into a magazine article and so did John's LS1 fairmont wagon is on the same page. Mines down at the bottom with three other 3rd gens.

oh your probably right, well i dont know if i will be able to go if it is that far, i wander why they arent starting in fort worth this year? anyways, that is cool that your car and his car got in the mag :cool:

i really want to go, but i dont know if i could afford it :( :rolleyes:

The reason its not starting Ft worth is because the power tour starts where it left off the year before. Last year it ended in Green Bay and it is starting in milwaukee which is not that far from green bay and thats only because lambou fields (not sure on spelling) scheduled 3 events in the parking lot at the same time as the power tour and there wasnt enough room and made a lot of people mad so they moved to milwaukee.

There actually used to be 2 tours... a east coast tour and a west coast tour. I've been on both ( 4 total)..... they quit doing 2 several years ago though.

I was there, was a friggin joke! I had a guy from Mustang Monthly that wanted to take some shots of my car...asked me to move it up front, and then had some a-hole flashing a badge and threatening to arrest me (just for parking)...the guy actually slapped the roof of my car as I was moving it away. later found out that he was a fireman moon lighting as a security gaurd! Friggin Chump! We also watched them tow away some really nice cars...was not a cool scene at all! GREENBAY SUCKS!
