couple Q's after seeing The Passion

The scene where Pilate's wife gives Mary the white towels and then her and Mary Magdalene wipe up Jesus' blood after the flogging- is that in the Bible? if so where. just curious.

I thought the movie was very impacting and I definately think it will continue to help me in my walk with Christ. It was tough to watch the suffering. It really demonstrated God's love for us and how we take so much for granted. For some reason i thought the movie was going to show more of Jesus' resurrection at the end.

Also, any information or sources you can give on Joseph's life after they return to Nazareth and the childhood of Jesus would be great. I know it doesn't mention much in The Bible.

The movie was quite powerful, huh?

The white towel scene and the washing the floor with Christ's spilled blood is not in the Bible. I thought it was touching though, expecially with the flashback of Mary Magdeline about to be stoned!

I liked how Mel added some things not specifically outlines in scripture to show the humanity of Jesus or the feelings of those close to him.

BTW - just because it is not in Bible doesn't make it wrong. Remember, in the book of John it is said that all of the books in the world could not contain the works Jesus did while on earth.

it's part of Orthodox Jewish tradition.

Leviticus 19:16 : Do not stand idly by the the blood of yoru neighbor

and

Deuteronomy 22:2 : Return your neighbor's lost possession (his or her life) to your neighbor.


You see it nowadays in Irseal after a bombing where scores of people soak up the blood of those murdered or injured. The soaked blood is then taken to the family where it is sanctified by a rabbi. What happens after that I do not know.

i agree. i thought it definately portrayed Jesus' human love and also his Godly love, especially with his mother Mary.

You can check these out but alot of it sounds far-fetched. So I would take most of it with a grain of salt. This is mostly about the childhood of Jesus, not much is known about Joseph.
