I bought some of that 3M compound (Rubbing and Perfect II)...All those swirl marks came out clean....I am really inpressed over this tool compared to my crappy orbital buffer...

hey man I am in the market to get a buffer and want to know what kind you are using. I always heard to stay away from highspeed buffing.

Thanks,
Kevin

Yes they do. I need to go get one BADLY. The one I used when I was working in paint/body burned up. I HATE Makita tools. I think the next one I get will be a Dewalt. I only need it for home use now anyways.

If you don't know what you are doing, you should leave it ot professionals. It is extremely easy to burn the finish if you are not cautious.

Very true but I already had some experience with them...I have a 13 amp Milwaukee w/ 0-6000 rpms...Its a heavier piece but I don't have to work as much. I've used the Makita quite abit. I tried to hear everyones advise on them high speed buffers, and I tried E-bay and lucked out on mine... They are expensive but its worth every penny.... Just remember to stay with the reputable brands like Dewalt, Makita, and Milwaukee (The stuff I see at Lowes or Home Depot...)
