Romans 5:1-2
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.
Romans 6:11
In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

I think everyone has a different opinion about it, I think of it as being free from your sins, and forgiven, plus having eternal life.
