View Full Version : red WS6 with dealer plates on 380 today

Anyone know anyone that just picked up a manual red WS6 recently? I'd like to know if the exhaust on the car is stock or aftermarket. I played around with him earlier today off of highway 380 just east of McKinney. It was pretty close all and all. He was faster than me on shifting, but my car was just a bit quicker than him so it ended up being a pretty even set of runs.

Rule #1: The LS1 cannot be beaten except by a LS1 with more mods or a LS2
Rule #2: If you still feel your neon my have beaten a LS1 check rule #1.

Ohh yes there was!! It's not in production anymore, but was in the late 80's.

D, be patient with the n00bs, they don't always know what a fast car really is.
FYI, a stock WS.6 is moderately fast. However, I wouldnt consider winning a race against one something to bring up on the internet. Let alone a site that is dedicated to mustangs.

Considering it's a Neon(Dodge compact car) I consider it pretty good to hang with a modern factory muscle car with minimal modifications.
Like I've said before guys, I'd like to se some of you deal with nearly 300 ft lbs at the front wheels with skinny 205 series tires!! :D

didnt you say in the other thread that it says SRT4 and not neon anywhere???? SMACKS of hypocricy and back pedeling.

also.. maybe you should learn to shift before you call people out to race.. so you admit you car is slow. and you cant shift.. yet you want to call people out on a board where most of the slow people are faster then you....

Yes, you are correct, but I also said that I don't have any problems calling it a Neon either. It apears as though you've got selective reading skills. :D
I have plenty of buddys with turbo integras and DSMs doing that and more. and they seem to do just fine.. and run ALOT faster then " barely pulling on a stock ws6"
That's good for them. DSMs have been out for over 10 years and any time you turbo a non-turbo car you better do it right the first time which means that it will be fast and not just quick. Drive through please...............

Wherebouts have I said that my car is fast? In this thread, I was mearly asking if anyone knew who this guy was and if the exhaust was factory or aftermarket.

If you opened your eyes then you'd see that a few LS1 drivers post here. I already posted this on a couple of other local F-Body dominate sites. You belong hitched up to the front of a carriage with blinders on.
I never said my car is slow either, I just never said it's fast! If you wanna call it American muscle then please do, but capitolize the A in American when you do. Have some respect for your country.

Was it the LT-1 or the LS1? My friend was toward Mckinney today, and he has a red 96 T/A WS6 with a Temp tag on it, which looks like a dealer plate....he has 3 inch exhaust after the cat dumped, so it sounds great....If it was an LT-1 it was probably my friend jerry

What does your friend look like? I got a pretty good look at this guy when he rollled his window down and wanted to go from a 35-40 punch.
did the TA have honey comb type taillights, or were they kinda straight lines?

If I remember right, they were kinda straight lines. We were side by side for most of the time and I really don't pay attention to small things like that.

Just look at my trap speeds. That alone should tell you how crappy the launches are in this car and how good the top end is.

99.9 percent chance that ls1 you beat at the track was a 6 speed. You think you're car has crappy launches? Try a 6 speed ls1 with street tires. lol

Nope, it was an auto with factory 2.73 gears. He was having crappy launches(for a rear wheel drive car) of 2.1 60s which is equal to my launches on street tires.

The last time I ran 14s was a few months ago when I missed shifted. Ended up with a 14.1 @ 104 mph.

You lose. You'll never convince most of the meatheads on this site that your SRT4 is fast, because it's a FWD 4-cylinder car. Open-mindedness is not a prerequisite for being a gearhead, unfortunately.
Sadly though, even your high 13's will not impress people here. In fact, most won't even care if you run 11's...they'll still clown because you drive a Neon, even if it is faster.
I'd give my right nut to have one of those 2.4 Turbo motors to put in an MGB or a Miata...something small, light, and RWD. That's what Dodge shoulda done with it.

Yeah, I read all about Monster Miatas about 12 years ago. Maybe not everyone wants a V8...you get a nice weight savings and keep the handling balance in the Miata by keeping it to a turbo 4. Miata's a superbly balanced car.
But I'm a "fool" I guess. :rolleyes:
