Anyone have any input on this subject. I usually have the Lean Body for Her, by Labrada. The Strawberry Cheesecake ones are 'decent' at best. :( Is there one out there that actually tastes good???

I really enjoy the shakes much better, but sometimes I would prefer to EAT something.

Thanks,
K!

Snickers Marathon bars are pretty good, but they are high in carbs, if you are trying to avoid those.

The Nitrotech/Mesotech line of bars are really good.

Most bars have Soy protein as the first or secong protein, not a good thing since soy turns up Estrogen levels..........Biatch tittys.

Nitrotech bars are all whey mostly Isolate.
Mesotech do have a couple flavors with Soy in them so watch out.

Odessey the snicker ones have Soy as the next to last.

All the Labrada LeanBody line has Soy Protein as the first Source of Protein..not a good thing.

All Bars are not created equal:)

I thought soy blocked estrogen receptors.

Oh ok. I just wanted to know how plant estrogen would cause a man to grow "biatch tittys".

(Note to Ask Rob readers: "Bitch tits" is gym slang for a medical condition called gynecomastia, marked by growth of female breast tissue in the male, most commonly associated with steroid abuse. Rob does not endorse the use of this crass description of a hormone-related physical abnormality, which regrettably has gained currency in bodybuilding magazines.)

The short answer to your question is no, soy won't raise your estrogen levels nor will it cause gynecomastia. There is a lot of confusion and misinformation surrounding soy. Because soy is a phytoestrogen, people assume that it raises estrogen levels. In fact, evidence suggests that soy may modestly blunt estrogenic activity in women due to competitive receptor-site antagonism with the biologically more active hormonal estrogen. An estrogen-reducing effect in men is less evident, but plausible via anti-aromatase activity (aromatase is the enzyme that converts testosterone to estrogen).
