I like the Skinny Kid wing personally.

The bottom wing you have pictured looks like a Steeda wing...they look good too. I bought one used from them that came off one of their race cars...then some asshole contractor knocked it off the shelf and cracked it...it is in need of some repair

But for all out drag...get the SK wing

I can't remember where I got it It was in the back of a "Race Pages" magazine. A place in Alabama I think. Anyway, I had it painted black, I thought it would look better!! I probly have around $300 in it:D

Thanks Al P, It just didn't quite look as good when it was silver:)

I like that one Shane!

Thanks. Here's a better picture from the side. It wasn't very hard to build as long as you can find someone with a brake long enough to build the wickerbill. Hell of a lot cheaper than buying one from Racecraft.

I like the Racecraft wing myself too, Chris. I was asking Lane about one but i think we are trying to keep it more sleeper like. I keep telling him 2" cowl and a aluminum wing though. Kinda like Big Eddies, LMFAO

Someone should be able to duplicate that racecraft wing for $400. Before I built my own I talked to The Hot Rod Store about building a Racecraft knockoff and that was the number we were throwing around. I know I've got $50 in aluminum, $150 in struts, $25 in stainless buttonhead fasteners, etc in mine. Plus, about 4-5 hours of my time.

In my opinion, Skinny Kid uses aluminum that's too thin and only provides these 4 cheesy little brass hinges that would barely hold up the front door on a little girl's dollhouse. By the time you build support into it so it doesn't flap around, you could have bought a better wing from somewhere else.

I've got two. One is 1/2 and the other is 3/4 which is what was recommended to me by Jerry Bickel. They can be changed out in 5 minutes. 1" would probably be too big. Pro stock cars only use 1/4 to 3/8 but they're 1000lbs lighter and are much more aerodynamic.

The mounting side of my wickerbills are 3/4". I took two pieces of sheet, one 1 1/4" and one 1 1/2" and bent them in a 90 on a brake. They're held in place by 16 8-32 x 3/8 stainless buttonhead fasteners and locknuts. They have a tab that's bent 90 degrees back and ties into the spill plates which is fastened with one of the same fasteners per side to keep the wicker from being bent backwards under positive airflow. Generally you should always run the wing parallel to the ground to promote laminar airflow off the back of the car. Then use the wicker size to counteract lift. You don't necessarily want downforce.......just counteract lift.

Actually, the spill plates stick up 1 1/2 inches I believe.
