some mags. have tested a bone stock AMG E55 running 12.2@116:eek: ..hell they dyno 4?? stock and put power to the ground very good!:cool:

oh I will have to check on the price....but, I could have swore e55 amg's were bringing 120k plus???? I will go and look it up in some mags and get back with ya on that. If so I think that is a hell of a bargin. The 03 cobra was putting down 450hp. I have the first video...and the rematch video. That benz regardless is badass. I also have a video of a renntech s600 running mid 11's smoking a single turbo supra. oh twin turbo v12.....hmmmmmmm of course it costs as much as a nice house to but, hey it might be worth it. Oh that guy that owns the s600 in the 11's also has a rt10 viper putting down 1000hp on the dyno.....I have that vid too......maybe I can go and find a link or two for you guys.;)

If I remember right the E55 is rated at 495hp or so; and the Cobra is 390. The E class of Mercedes is there version of a compact car. I think they are right around 80,000$$$$ Sweet ride though:) :eek:

If so...its a real old video...the cobra was putting 450 horses to the wheels and the e55 was bonestock except for some bfgoodrich drag radials!:) ...that's some guy from svtperformance...hes username is killabyte!:) ....

Am I the only one who saw the E55 killed the cobra out of the hole both times. I think that the race was won out of the hole. Hell the cobra wasn't even getting any traction. From the crappy sound that came with that video it sounded like at least of the first race the cobra was spinning. If I sound like I own a cobra, I don't, I own a SS. But in a manner of speaking I have owned some cobras:D

Yea, the E55 is pretty quick. I drove a new one at work a couple weeks ago. I thought it would have been faster though. I think an SL55 is a good matchup. S55 isnt bad either.....

The e55 will run you 80g's but you cant go wrong.....Lysholm blown 5.4 liter aluminum block, aluminum 3 valve head much like what ford is going to. The blower uses an electromagnetic clutch too....

You should see the new turbo 600's. NICE!!! twin intercoolers tucked beneath the engine cover

The guy in the Cobra goes by the name of Kilobyte. It's a sweet car. I think there is a rematch vid floating around somewhere. FWIT the E55 isn't stock. I can't seem to get on Fuelslut.com right this minute, where the vid was orginaly posted. If you search the site, both owners talk about the mods to their respective cars.

When I worked at Dallas Mustang, there was a company from Ft. Worth ( Oberklasse (http://www.oberklasse.com/) ) that used to modify and bring in AMG's for before and after dyno results. The first E55 they brought in totally amazed me, on the dyno it only put down like 350 to the tires, however they said the computer cuts power because the front tires weren't spinning. The had me take it out for a test drive after the dyno session was over, WOW was all I had to say I've never been in a car that quiet, with that much smooth power and acceleration. They took it to the track that night and it ran a 12.20@109. Very impressive if I say so myself.

Yeah I have video of one of those turbo 600's running mid 11's laying the smack down on a single turbo supra.
