You can get all the parts for a bugdet clone system for around $500. AMD 2400-2600 512 ram, 80gb hd, with no monitor or os.

That deal you got offered for $500 sounded pretty good to me.

dude, i was just in Office Depot today, you can get a hell of a complete package at 3ghz. loaded for $499 or something like that, looked like a great deal

yeah, but an HP or dell 3ghz wont run like a homebuilt will, they use cheap parts, so the processor never has a chance of good performance
