how to clean a bullitt gas tank door

my gas tank door has little swirl marks on it almost looks like scratches..(it already had them on there when i got it) just wanna know how to or if you even can get those out???

a buffer and some polish compound.

3M Finessit III. Expensive, but is the finishing touch for removing swirl marks left by the buffer.
