Hey detailers... I just bought a Black&Decker buffer/polisher. I have never used one of these before. I've always done my waxing by hand. I just wanted to know if there is anything special i need to do with one of these. I plan on continuing to use the Meguiars 3 stage wax. Please post up and tips you can think of when using one of these buffers/ polishers. Thanks

if you've never used one before, practice first... you could burn your paint if your not careful

see i've been told that i can't do that with this... because its a single speed buffer. Its fairly slow.... it's nothing pro

you could do just as good of a job by hand unless its at least 800rpm

I like appling by hand and taking it off with the buffer, I've gotton better results that way with the Meguires 3 stage set.

yeah it's just a single speed orbital buffer. It moves at 4,400 OPM.... i'm guessing thats Orbits Per Minute. What do you guys think, is this fast enough to do damage. I only ask because Trucks TV featured a Meguiars buffer that moves at 4500 RPM and they said that it wasn't fast enough to burn the paint.
